TomTom is your personal navigation assistant in World of Warcraft. This addon is very simple, but provides a nice set of functionality. Thanks to Esamynn for Astrolabe, which does the bulk of the work in this addon.
TomTom offers the following major features:
/way 14.78 23.90
/way Nagrand 45 50
/way 14.78 23.90 This is a waypoint!
/way reset all
/way reset Nagrand
/wayb Here
/wayback
/cway
/closestway

Added an option to search outside the current zone for closest waypoints, and to hide the distance to the waypoint. Both are disabled by default. Hope you enjoy!

Next waypoint
I added a bunch of waypoints from wowhead, and I'm having two problems.
First, after adding them all, even after a /reload, it doesn't route me to the closest one first. I added them in Ironforge for example and it tried to send me to STV first instead of the one in the inn inside Ironforge. The second thing is, if I manually set it the waypoint, once I've cleared all the waypoints in the zone, the arrow just disappears and won't send me to the next zone. I have to manually set it every time I clear a zone. Is there something I'm missing, or is tomtom not capable of figuring out where the next waypoint is on the continent? |

Cladhaire,
As the poster below said it worked great. Thanks for the advise. That saved me a TON of time and frustration. I made one long list with all the candy bucket data and was shocked when it worked on the first try. |

adding waypoints for hallow's end
Ok, I did this tonight...Cladhaire's directions worked well. Here's what I did:
If this is successful you should have all the waypoints for the zone you copied on your crazy arrow. I copied and pasted the waypoints from Wowhead comments to make my own text files. They are saved on Google Docs. I only have Alliance toons, so I've not done the Horde side points, but it should be easy to extrapolate the code for them from the text files I uploaded. I am in no way, shape or form a coder, programmer or addon author. I just took what Cladhaire posted and ran with it. This is literally all I know about making lua files, so I can't help you if this doesn't work for you, sorry.

You could add two waypoints using the slash command interface like this, I think:
Code:
local runCmd = SlashCmdList["TOMTOM_WAY"] runCmd("Stormwind City 46.7 12.4 Some guy") runCmd("Ironforge 50.0 50 Some other guy")

I have no idea how to do lua, so yes, if you can give an example that would be great. Thanks for the quick reply.

You can download something like WowLua and write a simple Lua script that adds them. If you need any help with that, let me know, and I'll try to provide you with an example.

Holiday time!
Does anyone know of a way to add massive amounts of waypoints to TomTom that is not bound by the 255 character limit? Is there some other addon out there that can do it? I know TomTom can't do it directly.
I dread the holiday events where I have to enter all the 255 character blocks of data across 5 toons. If you haven't figured it I'm referring to candy buckets, elders and mid-summer fires. So the second question is this: Is there a way to trade the data for waypoints across the toons short of editing the \SavedVariables\TomTom.lua file? |

You edit the code or wait until I've written an option that does it, I suppose..
