LightHeaded  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: v100002-1.0.0-2022-12-15
by: Cladhaire [More]

Classic not updated at the moment, only retail.

LightHeaded is a very simple addon that displays quest information and comments from http://www.wowhead.com in game, eliminating the need to Alt-Tab when you get stuck on quest. This addon was inspired by qcomments and wowhead_quests, which both serve a similar purpose. Data is only loaded when you first request it, so you can be sure you're not using more memory than you need to.

I HIGHLY suggest using this addon with TomTom, another one of my addons (http://www.wowinterface.com/download...32-TomTom.html ). This allows you to simply click any coordinate in LightHeaded to add it to your map as a waypoint.

The following slash commands are valid:
  • /lh attach - Attaches the frame to the quest log
  • /lh detach - Detaches the frame, allows you to resize and move it
  • /lh sound - Toggles the open/close sound
  • /lh page - Toggles showing all comments on one page, or with multiple pages
  • /lh bgalpha <0.0-1.0> - Changes the alpha of the LH window background textures, so you can see the world.
  • /lh debug - Enables or disabled debug messages when loading quest databases
  • /lh config - Opens the LightHeaded configuration window
  • /lh autodetails - Toggle automatic opening of the Lightheaded window when clicking a quest in the objective tracker

LightHeaded now includes the English descriptions and introductory text for most of the quests in the game. This is disabled by default, but can be enabled for those players that are not playing in their native locale.

LightHeaded supports sending coordinates to TomTom, MapNotes, Cartographer2 and Cartographer3.

IMPORTANT: Addon authors that wish to use this API and data should
include the wowhead logo in the frame that displays this information.
They are kind enough to let me continue parsing their database, and we
owe them at least that much. Thank you.

Thanks for using my addons!

Updated 2022-12-15 for retail.

It's been there since the first day. Click on the nub on the right-hand side of the LH window. It closes and you don't have to see it again.

Yes it fixed it, here is a screenshot to show you that it's fixed:

Gosh... I need to get a bigger monitor, nothing really fits right on my screen.

This says that the 'scale' of the LH frame is set to 1.0, which is full sized.

2) [1]-0.6499
This says that due to some parenting relationship, the scale of the frame is actually set to 0.6499 which means the frame is 64% of whatever size it is currently set to, but this is not why the frame is as small as it is.

3) [1]-*QuestLogDetailFrame*
This says that the parent of the frame is the QuestLogDetailFrame, which is fine.. no issues there.

4) [1]-0.1000
And this shows that the QuestLogDetailFrame has had its scale changed to be 0.1.

5) [1]-0.0649
This shows us that when combined with your UI scale the effective scale of the frame is 0.0649. I can positively guarantee that this is the root cause of the problem you are seeing. I have no idea why one of your addons has done this.. but that's what's going on here.

I actually thought you did. I am slightly agitated and it is because of earlier. I'm sorry.

I can do that, and I'll post a new comment here with the information each /dump command gives me. However I do not know yet what you mean by you don't need prise numbers only 4 decimal places... because I haven't yet seen what it displays. [/b]

Go ahead and do the following:

/dump LightHeadedFrame:GetScale()
/dump LightHeadedFrame:GetEffectiveScale()
/dump LightHeadedFrame:GetParent():GetName()
/dump LightHeadedFrame:GetParent():GetScale()
/dump LightHeadedFrame:GetParent():GetEffectiveScale()

When its in the state you've posted in the screenshot.

I don't need PRECISE numbers.. 4 decimal places is more than enough.

Okay, it still does it when all my addons enabled with it, even with a fresh new WTF folder.

So here is the screenshot below. Note that I didn't configure or change anything, I just re-enabled every addon with Lightheaded and the data to it all at once, and logged in and took a screenshot instantly.

I did back it up, it's just there is no point in showing you a screenshot, when I've determined that the reason it wasn't working without any other addons for me was because of a corrupted WTF folder.

Thank you!
There is no need for a screenshot because it will just show it working now, because I did delete my WTF folder before I tried it, and now it's working fine as it's suppose to (without addons). As for working correctly with the addons I normally use, I'll try that now and let you know. So basically it was the WTF folder corruption that caused the problem "WITHOUT AddOns". With them, I'm about to find out.
