LightHeaded  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: v100002-1.0.0-2022-12-15
by: Cladhaire [More]

Classic not updated at the moment, only retail.

LightHeaded is a very simple addon that displays quest information and comments from http://www.wowhead.com in game, eliminating the need to Alt-Tab when you get stuck on quest. This addon was inspired by qcomments and wowhead_quests, which both serve a similar purpose. Data is only loaded when you first request it, so you can be sure you're not using more memory than you need to.

I HIGHLY suggest using this addon with TomTom, another one of my addons (http://www.wowinterface.com/download...32-TomTom.html ). This allows you to simply click any coordinate in LightHeaded to add it to your map as a waypoint.

The following slash commands are valid:
  • /lh attach - Attaches the frame to the quest log
  • /lh detach - Detaches the frame, allows you to resize and move it
  • /lh sound - Toggles the open/close sound
  • /lh page - Toggles showing all comments on one page, or with multiple pages
  • /lh bgalpha <0.0-1.0> - Changes the alpha of the LH window background textures, so you can see the world.
  • /lh debug - Enables or disabled debug messages when loading quest databases
  • /lh config - Opens the LightHeaded configuration window
  • /lh autodetails - Toggle automatic opening of the Lightheaded window when clicking a quest in the objective tracker

LightHeaded now includes the English descriptions and introductory text for most of the quests in the game. This is disabled by default, but can be enabled for those players that are not playing in their native locale.

LightHeaded supports sending coordinates to TomTom, MapNotes, Cartographer2 and Cartographer3.

IMPORTANT: Addon authors that wish to use this API and data should
include the wowhead logo in the frame that displays this information.
They are kind enough to let me continue parsing their database, and we
owe them at least that much. Thank you.

Thanks for using my addons!

Updated 2022-12-15 for retail.

Thanks.

is this your personal choice or some copyright reason? or is it for lack of knowledge on how to make an addon part of the wowace database? it just seems to me that there is way to much segregation between all the major mod websites, wowaceupdater is by far the easiest way to keep track of all your mods and make sure they are constantly up to date. to me it seems ludicrous that so many of the best and most popular addon developers continue to ignore it.

I've install only this mod.

THK
Simply do the following:

1. Log into WoW
2. At the character selection screen, click on the "Addons" button in
the bottom left corner
3. Click the checkbox in the top-right that says "Load out of date addons"
4. Enter the game, you should be able to access LightHeaded.

As for TomTom, No version of TomTom should EVER read incompatible, since the last time that happened was 2.0. I will be updating both mods within the next few days, but there are no changes that NEED to be made.

I would sincerely appreciate if you could do some troubleshooting for me. Having outstanding bugs isn't something I like, and I can't reproduce this until I know what addon is conflicting.

The LightHeaded window is all black, and I can't click on NPC's name to show its location.
Is it because of my WoW version, wich is in french ?
It should work fine because of your client. I would suggest instead disabling all addons except lightheaded, and see what addon is conflicting.

The pics shown on this site are using DoubleWide, correct? Just curious how you were able to show the level numbers next to quest. Documentation for that Mod does not say.
Thanks!

It doesn't but you can make it work ^_^

Here's what I do :

1) Open up LightHeaded and find a co'ords
2) Press return to bring up a chat edit box
3) Type "/qnote" then the co'ords in x,y format and a piece of text after it
eg /qnote 34,56 "Kill Fellboards LH"
4) Open up Meta map and select the map note just made , hold down either right mouse button or control (can't remember been a while lol)
5) Select "Make waypoint" (or words to that effect)

NB Need to have MapNotes installed for this to work
