LightHeaded  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: v100002-1.0.0-2022-12-15
by: Cladhaire [More]

Classic not updated at the moment, only retail.

LightHeaded is a very simple addon that displays quest information and comments from http://www.wowhead.com in game, eliminating the need to Alt-Tab when you get stuck on quest. This addon was inspired by qcomments and wowhead_quests, which both serve a similar purpose. Data is only loaded when you first request it, so you can be sure you're not using more memory than you need to.

I HIGHLY suggest using this addon with TomTom, another one of my addons (http://www.wowinterface.com/download...32-TomTom.html ). This allows you to simply click any coordinate in LightHeaded to add it to your map as a waypoint.

The following slash commands are valid:
  • /lh attach - Attaches the frame to the quest log
  • /lh detach - Detaches the frame, allows you to resize and move it
  • /lh sound - Toggles the open/close sound
  • /lh page - Toggles showing all comments on one page, or with multiple pages
  • /lh bgalpha <0.0-1.0> - Changes the alpha of the LH window background textures, so you can see the world.
  • /lh debug - Enables or disabled debug messages when loading quest databases
  • /lh config - Opens the LightHeaded configuration window
  • /lh autodetails - Toggle automatic opening of the Lightheaded window when clicking a quest in the objective tracker

LightHeaded now includes the English descriptions and introductory text for most of the quests in the game. This is disabled by default, but can be enabled for those players that are not playing in their native locale.

LightHeaded supports sending coordinates to TomTom, MapNotes, Cartographer2 and Cartographer3.

IMPORTANT: Addon authors that wish to use this API and data should
include the wowhead logo in the frame that displays this information.
They are kind enough to let me continue parsing their database, and we
owe them at least that much. Thank you.

Thanks for using my addons!

Updated 2022-12-15 for retail.

Yes, that's it. I didn't have the "load out of date add-ons" check. I thought that was a good safety measure. i checked it and it works like a champ again.

Thanks.

By the way, I'm not sure I'm clear on the color codes for the Lightheaded Data sets. The main Lightheaded item is colored yellow, but each of the Data_A, B, etc., are all in red. What does the color indicate in this menu? This is the case for Atlasloot Enchanced as well. Thanks in advance for the insight.

In this particular case it means that those addons are load-on-demand and aren't automaticlaly loaded by the addon system. LightHeaded loads them dynamically as they are needed.

How do I use Lightheaded the first time?

I just put the newest version into my Wow Addons folder. When I enter my realm and pull up quests, everything still looks the same. What do I have to do to get Lightheaded started?

Thanks - Martin

You have to ensure it is installed correctly. There is a readme.txt file that explains how it shoudl be installed. There are really six different addons which all need to be installed (included in the single zip file). You need to make sure each of them is visible in the Addon selection screen (from the character selection screen). Then, you simply open your quest log.

Just shot out a small update that should help some of the issues with linkifying coordinates in user comments. Let me know if you see any odd behavior.

I'm using LightHeaded along with Mapster and TomTom (all newest versions available here).

When i click on coordinates in LightHeaded that are shown like [33.33, 55,11], it won't add them as a waypoint, the arrow from TomTom doesn't show.

However, i can't add waypoints manually with Ctrl+righclick on the worldmap, neither. It just zones out to the next bigger zone instead, aka performing a "right click" and ignoring Ctrl. Might be a bug with Mapster ?

I cannot reproduce this. In particular you should try clicking the NPC coordinates by clicking on the NPC name in the quest information. Those are generated and stored by LightHeaded and work well to test interaction between the addons.

This is a known bug, and affects a number of addons right now. I'll work to get it fixed, but its not very high priority considering you can still add them manually.

Did you copy/paste that? The first coordinate is in period-style decimals; the second coordinate is in comma-style decimals. No way TT can parse that..

This is obviously a TomTom error, not a LightHeaded error. I'm also not entirely sure how this can happen, but I'll try to take a look at it some point in the future. This isn't the ace forums by the way, please post:

* When the error occurred
* Can you reproduce the issue?
* If so, how?
* Does the issue occur with no other addons enabled?

No i didn't, i just wanted to give an idea and messed up the "." instead of "," in the second coordinate.....

Well, thx anyway.

Speaking of lua errors... I just realize i blocked them, maybe i get that TomTom one posted below, too. I'll have to check that.

Edit: i just checked the spelling of coordinates in LightHeaded and .... they were indeed formatted like [33.33, 55,11] ... wich might explain the problem ? i'll try the previous version of lightheaded, maybe there was something messed up with the latest version while parsing.

Edit #2: r245 works, the second coordinate doesn't have the ","
TomTom shows up, everything works, i'll keep that one for now.

Question Normal for the data to be red?

Hello,

I have the r248 in my addons folder, but when I go to the addons list in game, the option for lightheaded is fine, but all the data modules show as red text. Is this normal?

in 3.X, yes. IT shows that they are load on demand.

Quest objetives

Since last updates i deleted all my old addons.
Now I install lightheaded again with doulbewide. Before the update when i need to do something in a quest, like "kill 3 monkeys, collect 3 bannanas, etc" I had a link on the quest info. When i click on it the mobs position were marked on the map. Now I dont have this links.

I install again cartographer, and cartographer quest... but nothing happend.

Do you know wich addon we need to do that?.

Sorry for my english
