eXtreme Unit Buttons  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

This highly configurable mod allows players to associate buttons to unit frames. It is meant as a replacement to GroupButtons which stopped functioning with the 2.0 patch in December 2006. The mod extends the capabilities of GroupButtons by providing these additional features:

  1. an unlimited number of buttons per unit frame
  2. Buttons which turn on/off depending on the amount of damage a unit has
  3. Buttons which are dimmed if a unit as that buff or a related buff applied.
  4. Buttons which appear when a debuff is applied to a unit.
  5. Buttons which allow you to have any type of "/" slash or macro command on a button
  6. A variety of a modes for different activities in the game. For example, a set of buttons
  7. for soloing, buttons for instances, buttons for raids, buttons for specific bosses (such as Baron Geddon in MC (to all priests to debuff), buttons for PvP, etc.
  8. Assign buttons to unit frames that when clicked cast spells on different units. This feature allows, for example, buffs and heals for the player unit to appear within the target buttons to minimize the amount of mouse movement between buttons.
  9. Works for any kind of non-casting classes; specifically warriors and rogues.

I know that the documentation is a complete mess at the moment, I am already working on it.
But I wanted to have a released version for cataclysm start.

Before upgrading, please read the included 'readme.txt'.

You will loose your config, so read carefully !

Hightlights of the changes since the last official release:

 This custom buutton will only chnge to the state BUFFED if the destination unit is buffed with your OWN Renew.
New: '!' inverts conditions for cast buttons (buff, debuff etc.)
New: new debuff condition "Death"
 A button with this condition is only shown if the destination unit is dead.
New: new debuff condition "Purge"
 A button with this condition is only shown if the destination unit has at least one buff to purge.
New: two keywords for exclude-units:
  'hostile'   and    'friendly'
  Example: MyGroupName,SB_Renew,*,hostile
  This button will be hidden on hostile units (= it will only be shown on friendly units)
New: Spell ranks have been removed (multiranking too)
New: Macro buttons support now '[target=unit#]'
 Here unit# will be rpalced at runtime with the unit the button is attached to.
 Example: /target [target=unit#]
Improved: Verification of buttons while configuring the addon

And last but not least: 
!!! Improved: Internals are mostly rewritten from scratch for better performance  !!!

Please refer to 'z_historic_Changelog.txt' for older changes.
Known problems:
XPerl's partypets get no buttons

Known blizzard bugs:

'isUsableSpell' is broken, there is nothing I can do to change that.
That means: Some spells are reported 'not usable' if you target a hostile target or NPC (like 'PowerWord: Shield' for example).

Can you please add a slider to fade all buttons out of combat (and when hp and mana are at 100%)? Many unit frames have this option, it looks silly when the unit frames fade and xub do not.

Had to register to say - this addon is brilliant!! I saw a lot of people looking for benecast replacement, but this one is easy to overlook. Awsome work so far! Hope you keep working on it! Discord should probably be taken out and native support for shadowed unit frames should be put in. Keep up the good work!

Likely I won't be able to attach buttons to it, but it would be nice to have a movable boss frame, especially on Blood Princes. Maybe I'll pop on shadowed and see if I can just use the boss frame.

I don't use the boss frames, sorry. I did see them, when first installing Shadowed UI, so I know they exist.

XUB lets you define some extra frames via its unitframes setup window, so maybe you can get away with adding the boss frames to XUB?

There may exist the same issue with the boss frames that the tank frames have, where you can't cast spells because the unit ids are not defined via the frame? From an earlier post in this area...

Btw there is a request to Blizzard to implement unitIDs for MainTanks, see here: http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/th...2861&sid=1#230

I see they have boss frames, have you used them?
I would love to attach XUB to boss frames. I don't know if the API will let us.

Question Request to support Shadowed UI in XUB

Requesting support (both overall and raid frames) for Shadowed UI.

The frame names for player/target/party/etc. are as follows...

Player: SUFUnitplayer
PlayerPet: SUFUnitpet
Target: SUFUnittarget
Focus: SUFUnitfocus
Party: SUFHeaderpartyUnitButton#
PartyPet: SUFChildpartypet#
Raid: SUFHeaderraidUnitButton# (Where # is 1 to 40)

Exclamation Doesn't work in Arena with buttons on party frames

Found a bug using XUB v1.9 beta18, and agUnitFrames (version ag_UnitFrames-r713).

Cool. Well it will basically be their web site & forums, just sitting on my server. They can do anything they want with it. I (or they since they have author accounts) could even pop a donate button on there for them.

I'd be glad to help, but want to hear from the devs first, as I don't want to step on any toes.

Did you know we also had a user/dev web site besides wowinterface? http://code.google.com/p/extremeunitbuttons/

I don't think its being supported much, but it has a built in wiki, which is what XUB really needs.

Either way, a 'user' type site that gathers info on xub is much needed.

I find I have little time to be involved much, but sometimes I get these blocks of time I can do stuff =D

If the devs like the site, then I am hoping that you, Cosmic Cleric, will help get some of the info on there. I think the most useful part, is being able to actually search the threads, not so easy to do here on wowinterface.

It looks good. A couple of comments.

1. The "Download" link points to this web sites area for XUB, but for the 'beta' downloads area. You may want to have it point to the main GA/release download page instead?

2. The various FAQ links are good, but a little messy. Not a criticism to you directly, as I've had to deal with the same issue when I try and help others out with XUB instruction as well. What we really need is the original tutorial pdf docs updated (in addition to a FAQ web page).

3. You may want to mention the usage of the "$" symbol in front the buff name in a custom buff button, will make it so only your own buff will disable/dim the buff button. Its something that was added in recent past but only documented in a forum posting that is several pages back from the top forum page by now.

Thanks for the response - still having problems with multi-line macros.

Should this work for a Pally

_Mac02,macro,788,/cast Divine Plea\n/cast Flash of Light

Tried many iterations but so far no success

The above is just an example: I'm actually trying something else, but these are two casts that don't have cooldowns.
