MyInventory  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 2.07.6.6
by: Darklin [More]

This addon was originally written by a man named Svarten. Over time it was abandoned, then picked up by another person by the name Ramble. It has slowly succumbed to bit-rot and of course, the advent of 2.0.1 broke it's back completely. So, since I use it, I decided to see if I could repair it. As of right now I can't see any bugs but if anyone does, feel free to post here.

This simple addon replaces the default bag frames with a movable single bag. The beauty of this over other bag addons is that it actually handles 'scaling' with grace. So, for those of you who like having your bags scaled to .21583205 of normal size, the buttons will still look clean.

Commands:
/mi or /myinventory - List of all slash command options.
/mi config - Brings up the Options page.
/mi cols - Set the number of columns you wish in the bag.
/mi scale - Set the scaling of the entire bag.
/mi replace - Replace the default bag setup. (i.e. hit B to open your MyInventory bag as opposed to the default bags.)

~Version History~
v2.07.6.6
- Updated TOC for 2.1 (Otherwise it works just fine.)
v2.07.1.2
- Fixed 2 bugs stemming from LUA 5.1's handling of table values in FOR loops.

As far as the table values error goes, I'll look into it. Not sure exactly what's going on there. I have a feeling it's something in the way LUA 5.1 works but I'm not 100% certian.

For 'playing nice' with the default bags and such, yes, this is an issue that I'm not sure how to go about solving. I've only dabbled with LUA and the WoW interface API enough to repair this from it's previously broken state. Yet another thing to look into.

The options button could go next to or previous to the button used for showing the 'bags' on the MyInventory bag window. Still, /mi config is fairly easy to bring up the configuration page. I'll ponder it. To be honest, I really only released this so that a couple of my friends and I could have a 'fixed' version to use. I never expected it to take off like it has.

Not sure what you're after with the bottom half of the 'bag' window. I'd have to see either a description or a mockup to be able to figure out if I can pull off what you're after.

As I stated in the descripton of the posting of this mod, I didn't write this. Svarted started it off, then Ramble did the cleanup awhile back. I just did some tweaking so the item coloring option worked again and so that everything worked properly in 2.0.1.

Comments and suggestions...

Someone on another site updated exactly the same thing. I do not know if you're one and the same person but I sort of like this mod better than the other. The other mod is called the ACUI_MyInventory. Anyway great mod!

I'm getting a couple of errors though...

Error 1: When I type /mi or myinventory, it spits this error...
Interface\AddOns\MyInventory\MyInventory.lua:518: attempt to call a table value

Error 2: On the config screen, when I put a check mark on Keep Window Open, this error pops up...
Interface\AddOns\MyInventory\MyInventory.lua:446: attempt to call a table value

I wonder how this can be corrected?

Also, this isn't very friendly with other windows open. What I mean by that is that it has no way as the 'window on top.' What I mean by that is when the big AH window is open, with the default bags even if a bag goes under the AH window, once you click on it, it'll be the one on top of the AH window. This mod breaks the frames once the AH window is up making part of it stuck in the background.

I also have a few suggestions.
1. I'd like an Options button to access the config screen. This will help greatly with first time users because all they need to do is copy the files to the AddOns folder, make sure there's a check mark on the character select screen for this addon on the AddOns screen, then type /mi replace and voila, instant access to the integrated bags! What's more, they can easily configure it because there's an options button! That would be really cool! I can show you a bit later where this can be placed.
2. The bottom part of the mod needs a little face lift. I'll get a screen shot of what you can change it into and have a basis for it as well a little later once I get home to show you what I mean by this but it's basically the part where it's showing you how much gold you have or the number of free slots/ used slots you have.

Thanks for a great mod! Please keep working on it. I'm too lazy to learn how to code this.

kasca: You're sure you enabled the addon for your character at character select? Because if you did you should get a message saying, "Loading profile for <Character>|<Server>".

Then all you need to do is do "/mi config" and put a checkmark in the box that says "Replace default bags" Close that and then attempt to open your bags as you normally would and it should open up a single bag interface.

You can bring forth the bagwindow with /mi replace, or you just type /mi config to enter the options interface.
