Cartographer

Cartographer is a modular, lightweight, and efficient framework for manipulation of the world map.

Battlegrounds : allows viewing of battlegrounds outside of the zone.
Coordinates : adds coordinates to the bottom of the world map of the player and the cursor.
Foglight : Shows unexplored areas on the map. replacement for MozzFullWorldMap or Unexplorer. Much more efficient, though.
Group Colors : turns all your party's and your raid's POIs into circles colored based on class, and shows a number on them based on their raid group.
Guild Positions : show all guild members that also have Cartographer.
Instance Loot : shows loot tables when you click a boss note
Instance Maps : shows maps of instances.
Instance Notes : adds boss notes and such to instance maps.
Look 'n' Feel : allows you to change the transparency, position, and scale of the world map.
Notes : lets you put notes on the map, similar to MapNotes.
POI : store notes that city guards point you to.
Professions : automatically tracks herbs, minerals, and treasure.
Waypoints : allow you to make waypoints and have a big arrow point the way.
Zone Info : on hovering over a zone, it will show the levels of the zone, the instances in the zone, their levels, and the number of men the instance is made for (e.g. 5-man, 40-man).

That seems to be the exact problem I am having.

Every now and then "Mining" adds a note to the map, but that seems somewhat random. A solution would make me a happy miner

Love this addon in all other aspects.

Oh, btw: the questgiver-thingy works well. Every Questgiver has been added as a note without problems. So it might be something in the gathering job?

This is specially annoying in AV, where all the leechers are so close from one another, that you can't actually report them all unless you rightclick and use the "report all players above" feature. Will this ever be fixed? It's been quite a while....

Each time when I open my Guild Options -tab (I'm the leader) it gives an error message saying something about guild update and the content inside the Guild Options window is all messed up. I think it has something to do with the guild tracking function of this addon, which we do not use for it eating UI memory too well. Disabling the tracking from the menu does not fix the issue. Can you make this addon unrelated to guild's actions? As if I want to track my guildies you can addonize that to depend on cartographer instead to write it inside of it. EDIT: Oh well, it was easier to fix than I thought Simply deleted the folder inside the addon folder indicating on guild tracking and problems were solved. I disabled cartographer and it stopped (I just updated so maybe I had a bad map and this is no longer an issue) the really weird thing tho, is when cartographer is disabled, other addons act funky. mainly fubar addons like proformancefu (not loading) and timefu (cannot find time). Saw some instructions to load both together and then log back out and shut off metamap. I didn't see anything until loading the icon addons module with the metamap icon pack.

Transfering notes from MetaMap to Cartographer

Thats why they let you make map notes. Just make a note where the Anvil or forge is (like the big arse Forge dead center of Iron Forge). and there you go. you got a way to find them easy.

1) Delete ALL of your Cartographer folders from your addons directory.
2) Go to THIS SITE
3) Download the Cartographer addons individually & manually extract them to your addons directory. (not using WowAceUpdater.exe)
4) Restart your world of warcraft client. You're not bothering with saved variables, so your previous settings should remain intact (mine were at least).

NOTE: Make sure you download "Cartographer_Data" as well, to avoid losing your collected database of gathering profession notes.

....hope this helps, I'm getting tired of using the wowaceupdater tool to update my other 120 ace mods & then having to resort to manually redoing cartographer daily. I've saved the cartographer data on my desktop in a folder so i can just cut/paste the info into my addons directory though, to ease the pain.

CK! pls get this to work with that tool!
