    Cartographer is a modular, lightweight, and efficient framework for manipulation of the world map.

    • Battlegrounds : allows viewing of battlegrounds outside of the zone.
    • Coordinates : adds coordinates to the bottom of the world map of the player and the cursor.
    • Foglight : Shows unexplored areas on the map. replacement for MozzFullWorldMap or Unexplorer. Much more efficient, though.
    • Group Colors : turns all your party's and your raid's POIs into circles colored based on class, and shows a number on them based on their raid group.
    • Guild Positions : show all guild members that also have Cartographer.
    • Instance Loot : shows loot tables when you click a boss note
    • Instance Maps : shows maps of instances.
    • Instance Notes : adds boss notes and such to instance maps.
    • Look 'n' Feel : allows you to change the transparency, position, and scale of the world map.
    • Notes : lets you put notes on the map, similar to MapNotes.
    • POI : store notes that city guards point you to.
    • Professions : automatically tracks herbs, minerals, and treasure.
    • Waypoints : allow you to make waypoints and have a big arrow point the way.
    • Zone Info : on hovering over a zone, it will show the levels of the zone, the instances in the zone, their levels, and the number of men the instance is made for (e.g. 5-man, 40-man).

    I figured out where the bug is...but not sure what coding is causing it....the moment I turn off Foglight the problem goes away and the zone map no longer darkens after opening the world map

    Seems like a bug in Cartographer or one of the plugin's .....zone map works fine up until I open my world map then it goes grey....installation of cartographer started it...curious if there's a fix

    I have the same problem. Likewise, the mining/herb nodes aren't recorded for me, either. I'd switched over from MetaMaps because it looked like Cartographer was supported, but...

    If these problems are addressed then I'd definitely like to know if there's a way to import/save the information from Metamaps.

    Are none of the plug-ins for this working? I downloaded it for the first time yesterday on the advice of a guildie... but I can't get any of the plug-ins working.

    It's also not tracking herbs, etc.. even tho I have every single option turned on.

    Unhappy Updating - how do I keep all my notes/waypoints?
    Admitted total noob - I tried addons (actually, just Cartographer) for the first time in 2.3. Now I want to update - but it occurs to me that if I do, I'm going to lose all my little notes and map icons that I've so carefully placed, as well as my herbalism nodes. I've searched for Cartographer FAQs (the Ace page leads to a random message, but no FAQ: http://www.wowace.com/wiki/Cartographer/FAQ), I've read forums - everyone is talking about bugs, but no one walks through the actual update. And for all those who will flame me with using Ace updater, I've read enough horror stories to believe I ought to update my single addon by myself.

    So can anyone give me some guidance? Is there a folder I need to save? Thanks.

    Foglight Update
    Hey,

    One problem I've noticed and after some investigation found the culprit..

    Foglight needs updating.. the problem is when its enabled it causes the miniature "Zone Map" (shift+M) to blank out like you haven't explorered anywhere.
    This problem can be replicated by simply enabling the Foglight mod if it isn't already, then just open and close the world map for it to wipe the zone map data.

    Could you please look into updating Foglight as its too useful to lose.

    Other than that, Great Addon thanks. Keep up the good work!!

    I just downloaded this and it says that it works with 2.4 and I can't get the waypoints to work I have no other mods in the folder except whatever blizzard puts in there. Anyone else having problems?

    Note lists?
    I've just come from MetaMap, so I'm not too familiar with Cartographer. Is there any way of getting a comprehensive list of notes to display on the side of the map? I see this feature with quests and a few other things, but I'd like to have an alphabetic and/or categorized list of all notes that I can do lookups on. All the notes in the world are kinda useless to me unless I can easily find what I'm looking for, so I'm guessing there's a way to do this. And easy group or note type filtering (without having to go through the dropdowns) would be great too.

    Oh, and is there a way to import MetaMap notes? I've used MetaMap for 2 years and have tons of notes that I don't want to lose.

    I just installed Cartographer, all worked fine but then for some reason it went into this mode:


    And what ever i do, now the options panel, i cant press any thing there, the + that should fold out options is frozen, yeah well cant do anything.

    Any 1 know why ?

    I've replaced the TrackCircle Icon, with a transparent one, but the icon is still there, i use a mod that replaces the tooltip for the actual tracking dot to show what level the herb, mining node is needed (GatherSage).

    I was just wondering if in the next version you could include an icon which if your in a certain range, instead of changing the icon to the trackcircle, to hide it complete, so i can see the yellow dot but can still use the normal tooltip.

    An option to turn this function off and on would also be a plus.
    I've looked through the code but can't really find a reference to it, or anywhere to modify.
    I'd greatly appreciate this being looked into as it would make things so much better for me.
