I am no longer developing or maintaining World of Warcraft addons. I haven't played in years, and don't have the time or interest to continue working on addons for a game I don't play anymore. If you are an addon author interested in continuing one of my addons, please see https://phanx.net/addons/. If you are an addon user, sorry, but there won't be any more fixes or updates from me. |
(*) As of Patch 5.4 using Up/Down to access previously entered chat lines without the Alt key is limited to non-secure commands only. If you need to access previously entered secure commands (like /cast or /use) you will still need to hold the Alt key.Options & Commands
(**) If a channel is sticky, then after talking in that channel, the chat input box will open to the same chat type again, rather than making you type /g or /ra again.
Some additional options, such as customizing which channels are made sticky and what abbreviations are used for channel names, are available by editing the Core.lua file in a plain-text editor such as Notepad. If you break something, download a fresh copy and try again.Language Support

Hi,
Can we get stricter regexes on URLs. Saying things like "hey.lol" counts as a URL because there is no checking of tld or anything like that. I personally wouldn't mind things like "someurl.tld" being missed if it meant false positives being eliminated. |

#2 - No. There are so few messages from the server channels that it's not worth the code to selectively suppress only them. I wrote the channel notice suppression feature specifically to suppress custom channel notifications, because it annoyed me seeing "X joined channel" and "Y left channel" all night during raids. If you want to see that stuff, just disable the option and live with the few lines you get from the server channels when changing zones. |

phanxchat doesn't save the "suppress channels" settings for me
every time I log in it's back to "enabled" and I have to disable it again also...is it possible to suppress only the non custom channels?

As for your other addons, just revert to the versions you were using before the patch, and you should be fine. |

Sounds like you either had another addon interfering with client version detection, or your client itself was not reporting its version correctly.

It is simply not possible that error to occur with version 2.4.3.19, unless you have another addon which is interfering with the 3.0 client detection. I've just posted version 3.0.2.20, which completely removes compatibility with WoW 2.4.3. Please completely delete the addon files and saved variables for PhanxChat and install version 3.0.2.20. Log in with PhanxChat enabled and ALL OTHER ADDONS DISABLED.
Also, if you use Windows Vista and have WoW installed in the Program Files directory, check your "virtual store" to make sure there isn't an outdated version of PhanxChat in there; I don't use Vista and cannot provide specific instructions on how to do this, but I'm sure Google can help if needed. If the error still occurs with a clean install of 3.0.2.20, I'm sorry, but there's simply nothing more I can do. If you like, you can try reverting to 2.4.3.17, which is the last version without compatibility for WoW 3.0.x. Finally, you can verify which version of the addon is running in-game by typing: /run ChatFrame1:AddMessage(GetAddOnMetadata("PhanxChat", "Version")) |
