Not exactly, you create the macro as usual with the exception of having the [target=hbtarget] and you give that macro a name like Huge Heal. Then in healbot instead of typing a spell name like Holy Light, you would type Huge Heal, the name of the macro, which launches the macro every time you use that binding.

Yea I saw the examples in the readme. So if I understand it right, based on the third line in your example it leads back to healbot where in the addon holy light with appropriate rank is located and if let's say I have ctrl left mouse assigned to it it would launch that macro?

I had the same problem for a while, but if you check the readme and go all the way to the bottom I think you'll find some macros premade by class. The key to making macros work is using [target=hbtarget]. This way it tells HealBot to use the target you are clicking on in its interface, hence the hbtarget. What I use looks something like this:

/cast Divine Illumination
/cast Divine Favor
/cast [target=hbtarget] Holy Light
/run UIErrorsFrame:Clear()

This way you can get your holy light 1/2 cost and a crit about every 2 min, still cast holy light like normal while the divine spells are on CD, and the last line is just to stop error messages when you cast holy light during the CDs. More info than you were looking for I know, but I hope it helps.

I know that but what I would like to know is how it relates to this addon. I have macros but not sure how to work them into this addon as a healer. I'm using a libram swap to cue librams but to use it I have to use macros. It was suggested that it would be easier as a healer to use the libram addon and healbot since one can use macros with healbot. All the author of the libram addon said was to just plug in the macros but as stated, I havent been able to figure out how to insert a macro into healbot. A example macro that incorporates the libram addon looks like the following but not sure what needs to be added to it or where to place it to get it to work using healbot. Thanks

You create it in the normal macro ui, /macro.

I'm trying this addon for the first time. The one thing I don't understand is where to place macros. I read the readme but it doesn't say where to put them. Thanks

I've loved using healbot for a while now, but I have had a problem that I can't figure out how to solve. Taking Kara for an example, I have it set up to show groups 1 and 2 and raid pets. We generally rotate between fights, or as people come late or leave early. When people join or leave the raid, however, it reorganizes the people shown in my healbot bars. Out of combat, this isn't a big deal because it will sort them by group again after a couple of seconds. The problem is when this happens in combat they don't sort back into the designated groups until we leave combat, and when this happens during a boss fight it pretty much negates the usefulness of the mod. Is there a way to lock the groups when in combat that I'm just missing?

This will be fixed in the next version. It is being caused by unknown pet classes.

I really really wouldn't like this "feature". When I am healing e.g. the tanks in the fight against Brutallus, I klick the GH button like crazy to loose no time and to overcome the lag. Even if it is a option you can choose, what sense would this make? When an emergency situation comes up where you need to spam a certain heal and have this option activated you are lost.

ok i have a quick and possibly stupid question, how do you disable the messages you get from healbot?
the ones that say "healbot_heals> ## <<=>> name" or something along those lines, ive tried putting the messages to " no messages" but i still get them and its really annoying when my chat gets flooded

If you really need the stop casting feature, you could easily create a macro like normal and use the name of the macro instead of a spell name for your mouse binding. For ex. have a macro Huge Heal that contains:
/cast [target=hbtarget] Greater Heal
/stopcasting

in healbots spell options just enter the name Huge Heal instead of what you would normally use as a spell name. Just make sure when creating the macro you use [target=hbtarget]. Healbot uses hbtarget as a proxy in macro and converts it to the correspoding unit name.
