MapNotes 2.0
PLEASE always keep a backup of "WTF\Account\<AccountName>\SavedVariables\MapNotes.lua" before using a new version or you risk losing your notes.
This is a complete rewrite of MapNotes (and my first working test version). Please keep in mind that this AddOn is not finished yet and that I don't know how long it will take to work on more features. Here is a simple overview of what it does:
- Creates it's own World Map Frame, to use this new map, the only option at the moment is to set a Keybinding. New: Use "/mn show" to bring up the map once, go to options (top left corner) and set "Replace map".
- Double click on a zone map to open the menu (create a new note).
- Right click on a note to open the context menu for that note.
- If you mouseover more than one note, right click to keep the "Multiple POI Menu" open. You can now move the mouse over every single entry and right click the note you want.
- You can enable/disable different POI sets in the "POI Menu" drop down on the top.
- In the note context menu you can set (or unset) a note as Mininote. This will show the note on the Minimap if you are in that zone (will not work for the new zones in Kalimdor and Eastern Kingdoms).
- Click the arrow in the upper left corner to open the "Side Menu". You can now see which notes you set as Mininotes for the shown zone and remove them from the list.
- Instance Maps: Instance Maps for MapNotes can be found for Download @ Rapidshare (due to the size of the file).
Known bugs:
- No highlights in the edit menu drop downs.
Changelog:
- r144 -> r154:
Added support for displaying Gatherer (www.gathereraddon.com) notes on the map (display options are only avaiable through the drop down menu on the map, changing in the gatherer options will not have any effect). You can now bring up the map with "/mn show" and then change the options to replace the priginal map -> it will use the built in binding and open when clicked on the minimap icon then. Fixed a bug in the POI menu drop down submenu.
- r110 -> r144:
Added a options menu, which can be opened with the button in the topleft, you can create and modify Categories in there now.
Also there are some small other changes in that I don't remeber all.
- r109 -> r110:
Fixed the startup bug when MapNotesInstance is not installed.
- r108 -> r109:
Fixed a bug that prevented the Mininotes from working properly (and maybe more).
- r103 -> r108:
All zones beside battlegrounds should now work with Mininotes. Some other minor changes.
- r100 -> r103:
You should now be able to send notes to other players (and some minor changes).
- r96 -> r100:
Some small improvements in the SideMenu. Removed MapNotesInstance (the instance maps), MapNotesInstance is now avaiable for Download @ Rapidshare. In case external links are not allowed here please poke me on IRC or PM and I'll remove it, in case they are allowed: Please notice that those files don't get reviewed by WoWInterface and as such handle them with care. (There are 2 reasons it is uploaded there: 1) It is over 6MB because I save the maps the same way Blizzard does 2) Some thing in my connection doesn't let me upload that big files via webpages (times out).)
- r90 -> r96:
Added a sample instance (Stockades in SW), note that I don't like the looks of it (probably just need to put more work into the map). Fixed some minor stuff (Cosmic map, BG maps...)
- r89 -> r90:
Added a simple Waypoint support (An arrow over your head that shows in the direction of one specific note). It can only be turned on / off via the notes context menu and requires the note to be set as Mininote (you cannot chose to only set it as Waypoint ).
- r84 -> r89:
Added support to import old MapNotes, just type "/mapnotesimport" (you may need to copy "SavedVariables\MapNotes.lua" from your live copy to the beta client or revert SavedVariables\MapNotes.lua to your backup or add the MapNotes_Data block of your old / backed up / live SavedVariables file to the TBC beta client file). This won't delete the old MapNotes table internally, you can do so by typing "/script MapNotes_Data = nil".
Note that the textcolor and lines between notes don't get imported.
