Detached MiniMap Buttons  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

This mod attempts to 'detach' all your minimap buttons, allowing you to place them anywhere on your screen. Positions are saved per server/character and restored next login.

This is the first version of this mod, I am sure not all kinks are worked out. I have tested it only with the mods I have, so please let me know which mods create buttons that I cannot detach so I can load them and see what-is-what.

Not all minimap buttons are detected at start up (such as FuBar plugin mods, which has its own moving anyway). A slash command is provided so you can rescan for buttons: /dmbs. This will also reposition any buttons it failed to find at startup.

Special thanks to AnduinLothar without whose code and ideas in Mobile Minimap Buttons I would not have thought of this.

Very special thank to acruz2772 on wowinterface for guiding me to changes for TBC! His excellent explanation made things much easier!

Slash Commands:
/dmbs : look for new buttons.
/dmbs nodock : buttons will NOT try to dock to Minimap when close to it.
/dmbs dock : buttons will try to dock to Minimap when close to it. This is default.
/dmbs reset : reset all buttons back to initial positions.
/dmbs config: bring up UI

Changed variable isMoving to isDragging, this will fix compatability with mods which also use this.isMoving (like ImprovedErrorFrame).
Changed event back to PLAYER_ENTERING_WORLD since VARAIBLES_LOADED didn't help.
Changed TOC to 20003 (no 20004 or 20005?).
0.9.36:Added LFGX support.
Fixed (?) ICU button.
Added UI configuration: /dmbs config. This is a first attempt, if all goes well, I will clean it up and release this as version 1.0.0. Here is what the config does:
The first TAB are global options:
Use Grid X and Y turn on/off positioning buttons by grid coordinates. The sliders specify how big the grid is. Grid anchors
are always TOP and LEFT of the button. X,Y grid scale can be set independent of each other. Grid changes take place without a
restart.
Force Scale to 1.0 forces all buttons to a scale of 1.0 at start up. Good for strange scaled buttons. This only affects buttons at start up.
Lock All Buttons prevents DMBS from dragging buttons. This does not mean other addons cannot move the buttons.
The second TAB contains controls PER BUTTON:
On the left is a list of all the buttons DMBS knows about. Not in the list, then I do nothing to it.
Along the right/bottom are some sliders for moving buttons.
Scale allows you to change the size of a button from 30% to 200%. NOTE THIS DOES NOT WORK FOR ALL BUTTONS, so try it and see.
Force Hidden forces a button to be invisible. Unchecking will attempt to show the button, but the button is not forced to be
visible. NOTE: OTHER ADDONS MAY HIDE/SHOW A BUTTON. I MAKE NO EFFORT TO PREVENT THAT.
Lock Button stops DMBS from dragging a button. This does not mean other addons cannot move the buttons.
At the bottom are some buttons to reset position/center a button in case it gets lost.

Added command: '/dmbs copy [realm]/char' to copy profiles. If realm is NOT given, then current realm is assumed. Realm/Char names are CASE SENSITIVE.
0.9.42:Try to fix up initialization and button placements. Maybe screwed up when Blizz fixed UIEffectiveScale.
Possible fix for ShardAce Healthstone button.
0.9.43:Fix for Alarm Clock Wrangler.

Changed the way included and excluded frames are listed and added many more to skip over.

Add libDBIcon to lookups.
Fixes for tracking icon being wierd.
0.9.47:Fixed scroll bar in config.
Added bejeweled. Use RIGHT mouse to move that one, like tooltip says.

The were some addons, OneBag for instance, that used FuBar plugin architecture to create the minimap buttons. These addons I could not successfully hook before, but now I can. I was purposely ignoring minimap buttons created this way, now I am not..so not so big a change reeally.

For some reason, when I drag the ImprovedErrorFrame button, it immediately disappears (no matter where I moved it to). Any ideas?

I'm using KKBK for assigning buffs (http://www.curse-gaming.com/en/wow/a...5120-kkbk.html) in my Raid. I decided to hide the minimap button, because I don't really need it. This is possible from the KKBK options menu.

Since I'm using the Detached Minimap Buttons, the KKBK button reappears now and then and stays visible until I relog. I haven't had a chance to find out when the button reappears.

It is not that big problem, I simply dragged the button to a position, where it doesn't bother me, but it would be nice if someone could take a look at it.

Hi Bohohir, I love the mod and thanks for making it. It's made my life so much easier!

One thing I noted, you've been really good about having as many buttons for peoples mods movable but I found one that doesn't.
The Nurfed options minimap button will only go in circles (as it's designed to do) assuming it's a round minimap. Which mine is not.

thought I'd let you know and hope for an update soon!

Hi Task,
Itemrack as movement built in I thought? I just checked and it moved OK, unless I am missing something?

Hi again Borohir. Great work on the Mod.

I see you added Nurfed support. my problem is it still won't move the nurfed button. I've completely cleaned out my WTF and Interface folder and just installed nurfed and Detachable minimap buttons and it still will only move in a circle around the minimap. I can't move it away from the minimap.

Prehaps I'm doing soemthing wrong if so, my apologies in advance.

EDIT: SW_Stats button refuses to move too. *Shakes fist at it*

Simple Minimap

I did some digging and found out that DMB is causing SimpleMiniMap to do something odd with it's coordinate frame.

On UI init (Login, reloadui, etc), the coordinate frame 'resets' itself to the lower-left corner when it's set to be in some other location.

If I disable DMB, the problem ceases to be, so I'm posting this note on both SMM and DMB's site in the hopes that one of the two authors might be able to find out which mod is stomping on the other's toes. =]

Hi Gothic,
I also use SMM, I place the coordinate box at top, and use a square map, and it is always in the same spot..maybe another combo of options? I do not scale the map or anything, any other options you use which I can try? I am also using the latest SMM from wowace.

Yes I see it, my mistake, I will have to hook and replace the Nurfed onUpdate (I had switched to doing a before-hook). I will fix that.
SW_Stats does move, it is very hard to grab though. The very edge is best.

Thanks Borohir. I'll give SW_stats another try.
Thanks for fixing Nurfed.

One last thing, I've noticed that Alphamap's minimap button jumps around after it's moved. It is movable but it tends to jump around especially when you have hotspot on either on the Alphamap bar or Hotspot enabled as the minimap icon.
I've tried it with only alphamap and dmb.

As to Gothic's SMM problem. I haven't had the issue either with it. I have it center bottom. I've also had it at top center and never encountered the issue.
