CandyDice  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 70
by: kaylen [More]

CandyDice is inspired by the venerable and widely used DiscoDice rogue timer mod. CandyDice uses the Ace2 embedded libraries (notably CandyBars for the timer bars), tracks a wider variety of abilities, shows cooldowns as well as duration timers, and is sufficently generic that it can show duration timers for any buff and cooldowns for any ability. It works out of the box with most rogue abilities, several horde racials, and a few low level mage cooldowns.

Updated to version 70 with WOTLK 3.3 compatibility.

My little contribution to this addon. Druid.lua file with cooldown colors and all.

http://ts2.archaicorder.com/AO/images/Druid.lua.rar

Edit: I omitted Rebirth cooldown since nobody likes 30min bar sticking on your UI.

Sigh, I'm sorry everyone. Bad dependecy checking, totally my fault. I've uploaded a blind fix but I can't test properly what with patch day and all.

Any chance this mod can be expanded to include item cooldowns?
Very good mod apart from that little thing.

Could it be possible to add option for showing timer/cooldown bars without icons?
Would look so much more elegant with my UI.

Thanks

Will be fixed in next release (tonight or this weekend), thank you.

Edit: Fix actually requres more than a single line. I'll try to make sure I can get a release out tonight.

Yes, I didn't know about Babble-Spell when I first started on CandyDice. It *will* work on non-English clients, the defaults just won't work as created. If you feel up to it you can clear and re-create the settings use the localized names and it will work correctly.

me likey

But I don't have a rogue!

I second the request to add mage timers to this mod. Ace2 is wonderful! I love the look of candybars and would love to see a mage version!

Please?

If I had the knowledge, I would do it myself in a heartbeat!

It just resets the timer to 30s everytime your sunder hits it seems..
I don't know if it looks for the event of it hitting or checks that it just doesn't get parried to dodged whatever.

Reading your code makes sense, reading AceTimer i cant even see how it detects it other than the event it binds to

Edit. just re read what you said and missed something. To be really honest I never actually thought of testing if it still updates when parried/blocked etc since I only really use it when tanking bosses etc. However, it's never let a sunder run out with still having time on the bar so I'd hazzard a guess that it only fires when it hits. I could be wrong though...

I'm working on replacing AceTimers with this, thus making the adjustments I miss from there. One of those is the sunder duration on the target.

I'm progressing the making a warrior module/addon similar to your rogue one. Challenging shout and death wish are working perfect but the Sunder Armor one is a little weird.

I've attached the module code below but I'll explain whats wrong.

This works perfectly renewing the bar for each sunder (point being so I know when to reapply before it expires), however, after the 5 applications it just stops picking it up and the bar expires no matter if I apply sunder again. Is there some function or something with the event that stops firing the "afflicted by" when the stack limit is reached?

Any feedback appreciated

Sir
(code snipped for brevity)
My warrior is only level 13 so I had a hard time testing this (need to get someone to let me duel them) but since theres no actual change to the targets debuffs once it hits 5 sunders, there's probably no combat message sent.

Blizzard is annoyingly inconsistent and frustrating about what messages or even if they send a message at all for lots of abilities. Thats one of the reasons why there are so few rogue modules in the CD addon rightnow.

I've been looking at the AceTimer code to try to see how they do it and I'm having some trouble following it. It definitely hooks the same combat message you are, but it might also just be looking directly at ability usage. Does it update the timer bar at 5 sunders even if the sunder is blocked or otherwise not applied?
