DoTimer is a comprehensive suite for managing various things that need timing.
These include:
- your DoTs / HoTs
- your Cooldowns
- buffs / debuffs on you
It accomplishes the task by breaking into sub-addons: DoTimer, Cooldowns, and PlayerAuras, respectively. A fourth sub-addon, Notifications, is also included. All four can be enabled/disabled and customized separately. The reason for including all of these together in one addon is for interoperability. You can customize the timers to an extreme extent.
DoTimer starts off in simple mode, with a lot of functionality hidden. You don't see PlayerAuras or Notifications, and a lot of the customizability is hidden. This is for users who have no need of all the complex settings.
The basic philosophy behind the addon is that timers are put into a specific anchor location on screen. These anchors can be customized independently of each other, as can the individual timers. You can control where certain timers from the sub-addons go, so that the timers are placed as logically onscreen as possible.
Fragmentation:
DoTimer's timers fit into three categories: standard, No Target, and Party Buffs. Standard timers are timers on specific mobs. No Target timers are timers that can affect multiple mobs at once (or none at all), like Howl of Terror. Party Buffs are buffs cast on the party; you can set it up so that they get combined into a single timer so that tracking them is much easier (and less spammy onscreen).
Cooldowns's timers fit into two categories: Yours and communicated.
PlayerAura's timers fit into four categories: Buffs/debuffs with/without a duration. If you want, you can flag timers that have a duration to display with no duration.
You can customize the anchor location for each of these categories, as well as anchors for specific timers or specific DoTimer targets. You can also apply timer settings globally, to specific categories, to specific anchors, or to specific timers. You can make as many anchors and timer settings as you want.
Notifications lets you create notifications for various events, such as casting a spell, an enemy gaining a buff, losing aggro, losing health, or a cooldown being up. You can make the screen flash various colors, play a sound, send a chat msg / do an emote, or other various things in response. The system is quite customizable as to how the notifications are sent; I suggest playing around with it.

Hey there. So, when 3.3 dropped DoTimer seemed to totally change its behavior. Before I didn't really have to change any settings and it only showed my debuffs on my targets. Now it shows absolutely every debuff in the raid, and no settings seem to change this.
I tried White List, and even when I only white listed my debuffs it still shows everything. I'm trying to fumble around with setting just DoTimer auras (disabling cooldown and PlayerAuras and Notifications) and putting in only my debuffs as the timers in the timers for DoTimer aura, but again, it still shows everything in my raid. Any ideas? |

My it's been quiet. I've worked over my ui pretty thoroughly, and at this point I have three anchors in action.
The player auras is set to icons, runs much like blizzards default buffs, and has everything not aimed elsewhere. This I pretty much ignore The pet auras is set to bars, has party buffs on it, my pet's buffs (filtered), hots I cast, and those player auras I particularly need to watch which were moved here from player auras. In essence it's "good things" I need to monitor. The dotimer anchor is set to bars, has cooldowns. debuffs on me, and notarget items, and those spells cast on enemy that would normally go there like dots. In essence its "bad things" I need to monitor. I want one other item to show up on the dotimer anchor, which is any buffs on my target, IF my target is an enemy. I don't want to see all 20 buffs on a fellow party or raid member if I happen to target them for a moment, but do want to notice any buffs on mobs and pvp targets. Could you tell me how I might arrange that via the menu options, if it is possible? I'd much rather get this from dotimer, which is a superbly capable mod once the setup is understood, than to add anything else. Thank you, Raederle |

Thanks for the mod, it's very powerful. Is there a way to configure the PlayerAura's timers to display only debuffs with a DOT (i.e not display debuffs with lowered AP, chance to hit, etc)?

DoTimerFanFix
I have posted the following new project here on wowinterface.com:
http://www.wowinterface.com/download...merFanFix.html As I write this, the project is pending approval. The intent of the new project is to provide a working version of DoTimer which incorporates fixes to the three issues currently being experienced by users of Asheyla's last official version of DoTimer. See the description on the new project page for details. Please do not post issues with DoTimer at the new project page. Please keep all discussion of DoTimer here on Asheyla's project page. I will do my best to keep the DoTimerFanFix project updated. I will delete the DoTimerFanFix project as soon as Asheyla returns with updates to his addon.

That patch worked great for me. Also confirm that the totem timers all show up and disappear when destroyed. Thanks!

You might want to futz around some more with the configuration options screens while you're in-game. If you PM me with an email address, i can send you my SV file so you can load that in and compare it with the way you have your DoTimer set up so that you can make the appropriate adjustment if you can't find the right settings on your own. |

Patch for the shaman bug here:
http://wow.curseforge.com/addons/do-...new-totem-bar/ edit: of course, the totem timers remain behind once the totems disappear, but I'm tired of futzing with it. I actually don't want any of the "No Target" timers at all. The DoTimer -> No Target -> Enabled box is unchecked, but they still show up.... wth...

Re: Re: Re: You are not in party
Try the addon fix I suggest in that message if this continues to bother you. And thanks for adding the "funnily" part and proving you're a douche.

One small bug
I'm finally getting back into WoW again, and updated to the newest version of DoTimer.. the Configuration seems a bit confusing to me but I finally figured it out, but I have one question and a bug..
The question is that once I place the anchors and configure them, when I use the 'test' feature they show properly... but if I switch to another section say the Timer Configuration and try the test action, the 'test' is not correctly anchored.. It's as if each section only tests it's portion... thus the anchor only shows anchors, not format, the format section only tests format.. not anchor etc... Is this intended behavior? It seems to work fine when in combat and such, it just makes it a pain to configure. And if that's not the intended function, then the following bug might be related... On both occasions now where I had a Doomguard break it's enslavement, DoTimer went crazy.. LUA errors upon every casting (when it happens again I'll try to record the text), furthermore once I was out of combat and could look at things.. it was as if Dotimer reset itself to the default positions and formats and was stuck in the 'display' mode even tho there weren't any debuffs active (Not in combat, no target, yet I saw icons floating on my screen where the anchors were). Once I did a ReloadUI command, everything went back to normal. I only mention it in case someone else sees this behavior with Doomguards.. I'm not 100% sure that DoTimer is the cause.. only that the effect was that whatever caused it really screws up DoTimer. Sadly due to the nature of Doomguards, this is a very difficult bug for me to test alone.... and getting 4 others to sit around for an hour letting me summon one, wait for it to break on it's own, reload addons etc.. just isn't gonna happen If others see issues with Doomguards post here please, or if they have had doomguards break enslavement and NO issues.. please send me a IM instead (no need to clutter up the post), so that I know Dotimer isn't the cause and can test other addons I have installed. Glad to see this mod is still kickin! |

The new four-at-once totem-dropping skills recently introduced since Asheyla released the last version of DoTimer behave differently enough (generating four auras simultaneously, with a single cast action and update) that some adjustment is going to be needed to the DoTimer code to get them to track properly. I have every confidence Asheyla will do so as soon as he can work it around his personal and professional commitments. |
