Summary:
DamageMeters monitors damage and healing done by and to yourself and other nearby players. It keeps a running total for each player and displays the information as a bars chart in a frame on the screen. It is perfect for real-time comparison of the various members of your party or raid. At any time the text results can be output as "says", to raid or party chat, or whispered to another player. Many console commands exist for customizing the meters: type "/dm help" for a listing.

FAQ:

Q: Why the "-AL"?
A: Dandelion, the orig author, has retired from WoW. AnduinLothar (me) modified v5.0.0 from Cosmos because that version works with English, German and French clients. AnduinLothar has no long term plans to enhance functionality and would gladly hand over maintenance to someone else, but decided DamageMeters had a large enough user base that it deserved to be updated to use the 1.12 addon communication API.

Q: MY DM WINDOW DISSAPPEARED!
A: Use "/dm resetpos". This should make the DM frame visible and put it against the right side of the screen.

Q: What happened to the "Reset Each Combat" option?
A: It was made irrelevant. DamageMeters now keeps in essence two full sets of information: one normal, and one set that applies only to the latest fight. This second set, the Fight set, is what provides the information for the DPS, HPS, DTPS, and HTPS quantities. Those quantities are basically the normal quantities but divided by the duration of the fight. If you turn off the "Visible Quantity\Show Fight Data As Per/Second" option you have what is in essence the same thing as what you had before with the "Reset Each Combat" option.

Q: Why can't DM just automatically sync?
A: v5.1.0 has a BETA auto-sync option. This will sync when you lave combat once every three (3) minutes. In previous versions this was left out for the following reasons: Primarily because sync'ing takes a long time. There is just a lot of data to transmit, and since WoW likes to boot clients that send data too quickly DM transmits it slowly. If you are having problems with frame lag or being disconnected randomly you should disable auto-sync and do it manually after boss fights.

Blocking.

I was wondering if the current author of this mod has any plans to include Blocking in the stat reports?

Aka - Adding up how many times you've blocked, how much damage you've blocked during an encounter/entire raid.

I would really love to have this stat!

Also, how many times you've parried/dodged/have been missed as well, and how many swings have come at you total.

All these could just be in the "Event Report". I love DamageMeters, but if anyone knows of a mod that can count this stuff for you, I'd love to know it!

@kanezfan: Drag the bottom or corner of the DM window to change its size.

@orionshock: The Sync menu has an option to disable syncing all together (uncheck Enable Data Sync)

Hey, I love this mod but being relatively new to WoW, I just started taking part in raids, Karazhan being my first. I noticed that while all 10 raid members are listed in damagemeters, I only see the dps numbers from the 5 people in my party (if that's the correct terminology). I asked during the raid how to get dm to record and show the damage/dps for all 10 raid members and someone said something about auto count limit but when I played around with the number there it then only showed me two people, three people, the number varied per fight basically.

Can you tell me how to set it up to show me the DPS for all 10 members of my kara raid?

the problem is not that - but in well tuned raids - End of combat happens for everyone in a uniform fasion. for UnTested content / new ppl, then tend do die.
and this death while it puts then out of combat - the rest of the raid remains in combat, and thats where the FPS lag comes in.

also like many others have u looked into adding a Permoted or above option to synch functions? or atleast an option to Not Synch with group members at all?

Synching

would like to add option / feature to ONLY synch / register SMA Events while out of combat

it dosn't happen often but did the other day - where i synched and lagged a group memeber out.

I have no doubt that is wrong. I have been using DamageMeters, along with several other mods, for over a year and never heard a peep from Blizzard about it. Perhaps you have something else running that confused their snooping program?

Their sniffer doesn't even look at addons, it purely checks applications running at the same time as WoW. Contest the claim with Blizz's support staff. Nothing this or and addon can do will get you banned.

Interesting. I've used this mod extensively and have yet to have this issue. I highly doubt that this mod is the cause.

The account has been identified as having used unauthorized game modifications and thus is in violation of the World of Warcraft Terms of Use.

This is part of the email I received from WOW tonight.
This Damage meter is the only UI mod i have in the UI folder.
I have no other mods or cheating software installed, just be wary.

Apparently their pre-logon sniffer detects this as a cheating mod ?

I would suggest you load directly to login page and bypass the sniffer.

Anyone else exp. anything like this?

I assume it’s off cause the difference between my damage and everybody else’s damage is far too great to be accurate. Usually in range of everybody else and not dead. I try synching periodically but sometimes I am the only one that has DamageMeters installed. For instance I did Slave Pens on heroic the other night and it showed me at 86% of all damage done while everybody else was between 3-4%.
I also have SW-Stats installed which shows completely different values.
