IgnoreMore  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 1.1.1-40300
by: mikk [More]

IgnoreMore will:

  • Let you ignore more than 49 players
  • Share the same ignore list between all players on the same realm (and faction).
  • See when someone was ignored
  • Give a reason for why the person is ignored
  • NOT respond with "X is ignoring you" (unless the person was initially added to the system Ignore list before IgnoreMore was installed)

The "/ignore" command is also extended with a second parameter giving a reason directly, e.g. "/ignore Mikk : loudmouthed guy". You can also double-click lines in your ignore list to edit these comments.

Um... The Blizzard ignore list doesn't seem unlimited to me, it's still right at a limit of 49 players.

Edit 2: ignoremore is thoroughly broken with 3.3.5 and the battle.net changes. Not surprising. Hopefully the author will wander back at some point. [/b]
Indeed it is.

Any idea how hard it would be to hack it back into working order? More like a few surgical changes or a complete rewrite?

Edit: Now that the Blizzard ignore list is unlimited in length, the main value added by ignoremore (at least for me) is account-wide ignoring. The ability to add a comment is nice, but I don't use it for 99% of the people I put on ignore. I wonder if a simpler and more robust version which simply records everyone you have put on ignore and ensures any missing names are added to the official list of other toons when you log them in might be almost as good and more future-proof (since it wouldn't care about changes to the UI).

Thank you for mentioning that. I feel like a tool for not scrolling down before.

I thought ignoremore did this. It doesnt? If not it should, it would be an easy thing to accomplish. Also, I found out that players in your ignoremore list can still send you invitations to join a guild. These should also be blocked when you have time.

Actually it would be quite simple. Just add a slash command to ignore using the default and some form of highlighting or something on the ignore list interface to indicate that that person is on the Blizzard ignore list or vice versa.

And miss out on the joy of getting to follow up with a 2nd whisper: "olol nvm i have you on ignore"? Why?

Ok; so I'll do... If you want a notice if you're in the same raid/party with someone you're irgnoring just add somewhere (best at the end of the file) IgnoreMore.lua the following code:

Code:
frame:RegisterEvent("PARTY_MEMBERS_CHANGED")

local notifiedParty = {}

function frame:PARTY_MEMBERS_CHANGED(event)
	-- Check if in raid group
	local raidMemberString = "raid"
	local memberCount = GetNumRaidMembers()

	-- No raid but maybe a party ?
	if (memberCount == 0) then
		raidMemberString = "party"
		memberCount = GetNumPartyMembers()
	end

	if (memberCount == 0) then
		notifiedParty = {}
	elseif (memberCount > 0) then
		for i = 1, memberCount, 1 do
			memberString = raidMemberString .. i --add the suffix of corresponding player
			source = string.gsub(GetUnitName(memberString, true), "%s", "", 2)

			if list and type(source)=="string" and source~="" and type(list[source])=="table" then
				if (notifiedParty[source] ~= true) then

					if list[source].reason and list[source].reason~="" then
						reason = list[source].reason

						-- No CHAT-Messages in Battlegrounds
						if UnitInBattleground("player") == nil then
							-- Next line send "warning" to complete PARTY/RAID that someone is on YOUR ignore :-)
							SendChatMessage("Info: "..source.." is blacklisted by "..UnitName("player").." (Reason: "..reason..")", strupper(raidMemberString), nil, GetChannelName(strupper(raidMemberString)))
						end
					else reason = "none" end

					-- Print found ignored players (once per Raid)
					print ("- "..source.." is blacklisted (Reason: " .. reason .. ")");

					notifiedParty[source] = true
				end
			end
		end
	end
end
If you get invited into a raid and there is already a person ignored or a person gets invided who is ignored the whole raid receives a message that you ignore this person (and the reason why). If you don't want that just add "--" before "SendChatMessage("Info: "...

If you also want a person to get informed if the person sends you a whisper change the following:

1. search within IgnoreMore.lua the "function chatFilter" and replace the whole function with this code:

Code:
local notifiedWhisper={}

local function chatFilter(self,event,msg,source,...)
	-- print("Message: ", msg, "  Source: ", source)
	if list and type(source)=="string" and source~="" and type(list[source])=="table" then
		if event=="CHAT_MSG_WHISPER" then
			if notifiedWhisper[arg2] then return true end notifiedWhisper[arg2] = true
			if list[arg2].reason then reason = list[arg2].reason else reason = "none" end
			SendChatMessage("Sorry, but you are blacklisted. I can't read your messages (Reason: " .. reason .. ").", "WHISPER", nil, arg2)
		elseif event=="CHAT_MSG_WHISPER_INFORM" then
			return false, arg1.." (NOTE: You are ignoring this player!)", source, ...
		end

		return true
	end
end

It wouldn't prevent you from getting Dungeon Findered together the first time. But if you bail and requeue, you would be "safe".
IMO it would be best if they were separate with an option when adding someone for it to be either the IgnoreMore list or the Blizzard list. With random dungeon finder and battlegrounds I want to ignore the bots/bads with Blizzard's list so that I don't get in the same instance as them... so I don't want to waste those slots on trade chat morons who I just want to not see, which IgnoreMore can handle.

Post it tbh. I'm still not sure what I want to do. Especially in regards to wanting to having people in the system ignore list too to avoid ending up in queues with them. (= you can't send reasons since the server eats the message)

Hi all,

I've made a "hack" for the latest version to support this again and i also made a "hack" for showing in raids / parties if you have someone on ignore. So every time you get invited (or invite players by yourself) you get informed about players you dislike :-)

Should i post the "hack" here or send to the author for implementation ?
