Clique is a simple addon that enables powerful click-casting and hover-casting on your unit frames and in the 3D game world. You can bind virtually any mouse or keyboard combination to a spell or macro. In it's normal configuration this enables you to use the bindings over your unit frames in order to cast spells directly on that unit. This allows you to more quickly select both the spell to cast, and the target of the spell without requiring an extra click.
To begin with Clique, open your spellbook and click on the new tab that is shown there. You can also open the configuration GUI by running the /clique slash command. From this binding interface you can add, remove and alter any of your Clique bindings. You will be unable to make these changes when you are in combat due to limitations in the Blizzard API.
Binding a spell
Binding a spell is just a matter of finding the spell in your spellbook, putting your mouse over it, and performing the binding you would like to add. For example, if you'd like to set 'Regrowth' to activate on 'Shift-LeftButton', then you just find that spell in your spellbook and then Shift-LeftClick on it. You can also bind keyboard combinations, so you could do the same with Shift-R if you'd like.
Keep in mind when you are setting your bindings that they will override any bindings that are already set on the frame, for example the default bindings to 'Target unit' and 'Show unit menu'. You can override these bindings if you would like, but you should then set a new different combination that will activate the original functions
Binding the 'Target unit' or 'Show unit menu' actions
If you've rebound or lose these default bindings, you can re-bind them using the 'Bind other' button in the Clique configuration. Click on the button, and choose the correct action and you will be presented with a dialog box that allows you to set the binding for that action. Simply choose a new key combination, and you will be able to target units and open your menu again.
Binding a macro
Binding a macro can also be found on the 'Bind other' button. You'll be given a new window with instructions and suggestions about writing your macros, but other than that the process should seem very similar.
Managing click-sets
Each binding can belong to a number of binding-sets. These sets determine when the binding is active. The built-in binding-sets are as follows:

Clique Problem
Hey guys i have been using clique for a while now and i cannot find a solution to this problem, occasionly and for no apprant reason when i am alt left or right clicking heal spam on a target the wow hand icon will become shaded grey and i wont be able to click the heal off on the target, when this occurs and i try to manually click on the target i will not target the person i clicked on but the person they are targetting instead, this problem randomly fixes itself and continues to happen randomly.

Hello Cladhaire!!
Since 2.3 it seems that Blizzard changed the /stopcasting functionality and this started to cause the game to register every one of my clique requests (i'm a holy pally and spam FoL) and gives me a constant stream of SPELL IS NOT READY YET messages when before it would simply ignore my cliques until the GCD/Timers were ready to cast the next spell. My macros are mostly very generic, cast spell and it casts with nothing additional to it. I'd rather not wait for cooldowns to be ready to click on my binding to avoid the stream of not ready messages along with the casting sound. What could be done about this? Have other people experienced this change? Help as always is very welcomed and appreciated. |

@Archangel_Mike: Ace2 is a nice framework for those who use a lot of Ace2 addons, as is my case (300+ addons so far), or really huge addons, since in both cases your setup ends up using most of the features available in the Ace libraries, what in turn saves memory. On the other hand, if you use only two or three small addons, having them in Ace2 versions is bad, because it's unlikely that they're using all the features of those libraries, what means you end up having lots of memory taken for nothing. It's a trade off basically: at some point you cross the sweet point and having Ace2 is worth it. Below that point, it isn't.
That said, there are other frameworks out there that provide the cohesiveness as Ace2. You have from the "very small just the basics", such as Dongle, LibStub and the (in development) Ace3; to the middle ground of an Ace1, of which I still have some addons working flawlessly here; to the "huge do all you might dream and more", of which Ace2 is an example and where you find things like Sea (used by Cosmos) and LibRock (which is an update to Ace2 based on LibStub). And if you look at the files included in Clique, you'll find it uses Dongle. Which was developed as a reaction to Ace2's bloatwareness. And which in turn is working as the main model for the future Ace3. So, in a sense Clique is "Ace'd". It's just not "Ace'd" with Ace2, but with one of it's less memory intensive, less bloated, more advanced successors. |

Well it ain't a bad idea creating a unified architecture for WoW addon updates next to the ace (ace2, ace3, Rock, whatever)-ecosystem, which should being kept separated from the rest of it.
However once again I thank Cladhaire for Clique and its steady updating - one developer you can count on |

I would just like to say that I am glad Ace isn't burried in this somewhere adding a bunch of bloatware to it. I hate bloatcode, and Ace is just that. A pile of junk all loading in where the mod may use one thing from it.
Nothing is wrong with self contained clean small mods. I am glad Cladhaire believes in the KISS philosophy of programming. With that said, this mod is wonderful. I have grown to enjoy its usefullness for my Priest, and I even use it on my rogue !!! of all things. Takes an interesting concept, and executes it well. |

I answered the "Ace Updater" question on LightHeaded earlier today. Here was my response:
2.) Why is it in serious need of an updater application? There aren't bugs in it, and it "just works". The state of comments for most of the quests in the game are in a low rate of change, and as a result I update the addon once a week at most. 3.) TomTom hasn't changed since before the last patch. Claiming it's in "Serious" need of an updater is a bit of an exaggeration. 4.) Wowinterface.com allows you to tag addons as favorites. When a favorite of yours is updated, you are notified by email and a direct link to download the file. I'm glad you enjoy my addon, and I'm hoping that my responses make sense. There are good reasons for everything, even if its not immediately obvious. My addons are not like many of the "Ace" addons you may be familiar with that have a high rate of change and bugfixing. I do extensive testing, and do my best to provide stable software releases so my users don't have to sit spamming an update button to make sure their UI works when they want to play their game.

Hello Cladhaire!!
First off, thank you for this wonderful mod. My life as a priest is tons easier because of clique and I am thankful for that. I just have a question, I used to update clique (and several of your addons) using Ace updater. Now i don't see your mods on the list. Did you remove your mods from the ace updater? Can I ask why? Thanks again. |

I was working on mods when raid started so i just went to the raid with x-pearl, clique and grid, and no working right click on unit bar. A bit into the raid i needed water so i targeted a mage and right clicked to trade out of old habbit, and it worked I didnt do anything to make it work, so i have no idea what went on Oh well, it works now |

Again, Clique is able to do what you're asking it to do, as far as I can tell.

Hi again
It does indeed work without x-perl Both having zero bindings and right clicking on my blizzard ui portrait, and also having bound something to right click but only active for grid and then right clicking on my portrait Major letdown I really love x-perl, but i also love grid Is your mod able to let me both mouse click stuff into grid (and only onto grid) and at the same time right click on my portrait outside of grid by setting it up better or more complex than i have so far ? |
