MetaMap  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 20100-2
by: MetaHawk [More]

DESCRIPTION:
============
MetaMap adds features to the WoW world map, keeping all mapping type features in a single place.
Some features are:

Adjust the map window size.
Move the map anywhere on the screen.
Adjust the opacity of the window & maps.
Saved sets for toggling between 2 map modes.
Allows full player movement, messaging, etc. with map open.
Adds coords to the main map and the Minimap
Adds Instance maps which open to the correct instance you enter.
Default data included for all bosses & locations etc.
User editable notes for all maps, including instance maps.
NPC/Mob database collectable by mouseover or keypress.
Toggling on/off display of unexplored areas of the map.
Boss Loot Tables displays all the loot dropped by bosses, and more.
Waypoint system to guide you to any set point.
Complete Quest logger with optional history database.
Tracker module for gathering Herbs/Ores etc.
NoteBook module for additional notes, linked to Tooltips.
Inbuilt Import and export facilities for various data formats.
Inbuilt Backup and Restore facilities.
Button on Minimap to open or close the World Map or display MetaMap options.
Key bindings for various MetaMap functions.
Full support for Titan Bar.

INSTALLATION:
=============
Extract ALL folders in the archive to the Interface\AddOns\ location. If you wish the Instance maps to be populated with default information, then on first installation you will need to select 'Extended Options' from the MetaMap menu.
Select the 'Database' tab, then click 'Load Imports'. This will enable the default import button, 'Import Instance Notes'. Click on the 'Import' button to import the data.

ISSUES/COMPATIBILITIES:
=======================
Some addons may reset the map to gather location data.
If your map continuously jumps back to your current location when selecting another map,
it will be due to another addon resetting it. In most cases the authors have made changes
to correct this so, download the latest version of any conflicting addon.

Added frame level adjust for TitanBar button. Works correctly again now.
MetaMapTRK now saves options seperately for each character.
...(Currently looking at changing the map routines, which is likely to take some time).
...(Thought i'd get these fixes out in the meantime).

Seems with these last couple of updates I have to reinstall my npc and mob database after every patch, and it's getting annoying..

Only other reason then, is that not all the folders have been correctly extracted. There should be a folder within MetaMap called 'Maps', as well as a few others. Make sure all are extracted correctly.

And yes, other frame manipulation addons such as BiBmod can cause problems. If all the folders are correct, it will be worth disabling all other addons to see if you still get the problem. If not, enable each one by one until you find the culprit.

Is there still a problem or do i something wrong ?

Yesterday i was in Scarlet Monastery, i open the map, but the map was empty...

Ok, i now have read the 7 pages here... and yes i use the bibmod addon too.
But bibmod is a hotbar addon and has i thought nothing to do with the maps?

Or has it something do with the Scaling an Shifting ... ?
Sounds more like a memory problem. If your Addon memory is still set to the default, then it most likely is.
At the login screen, click the Addons button to bring up the Addons screen. Top right, set the memory to zero. That will then adjust memory size for whatever you may be running.

First one is fixed in latest version.
The other problem is another addon resetting the map. As the notes advise, download the latest version of any conflicting addon, as most authors have now corrected that. If not, bin it, as it's not worth running.

I prefer the embedded one because it sets itself to whatever map you display, unlike the old one, which only displays the zone you're currently in.
Yeah, I was not very clear in what I was trying to say, but I did try to replicate what I was talking about and it seems to have been corrected in the latest version (or the previous one), so it's all good. I can say I like the new display better now

Keep up the nice work!

Re: Not sure when this stopped working

I don't tend to use it very often, the tloc command in cosmos, but normally it puts a red dot on the map showing where you need to go. It use to work in metamap, but I and a couple of guild m8's noticed that it doesn't work anymore if metamap is loaded. Works fine otherwise.
The tloc command was part of the old MapNotes mod. I removed that, as well as a couple of others, and merged it into the single /qnote function, which makes it far more flexible. Look at the notes on what parameters you need.

I use the old display for the KB. I am not a big fan of the enbedded
style. Please leave that option in.

I hope you see this post. Thanks for a great Map Mod.
Keep up the good work.
