Geist  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 100105.1
by: Cidrei [More]

Geist seems to be working fine with Dragonflight. Let me know if anything crops up.

Geist is incompatible with addons using LibActionButton-1.0, including ElvUI. This is not a bug so much as two incompatible button systems. Geist uses the built-in ActionButton functionality provided by WoW while buttons generated by LibActionButton-1.0 use custom code to achieve their goals. As this is not a bug in Geist, I have no intentions of figuring out a workaround at this time. My apologies for any inconvenience this causes.

Geist provides a twenty-five button action bar that displays under the mouse cursor at a keypress for quick and convenient access. Geist includes Masque support for button skinning.

How to use: Bind a key to Geist using the keybinding interface in the menu. Geist will display whenever that key is pressed with the mouse over the center button.

100105.1 - 2023-06-30
* - Back to a single ToC file.
* - ToC bump (still works in 10.1.0 with load out of date addons).
^ - Allow button assignment up to the current action slot ID limit of 180.

100000.1 - 2022-10-26
* - ToC bump. Welcome to Dragonflight.
^ - Fixed up the keybindings to actually display in the settings.

* - ToC bump.
^ - Removed deprecated grid function.

Not through Geist, though it does follow the default interface setting in this regard. If you want the buttons locked, you'll have to do it in the Blizz interface options.

That's odd. I've not heard of anything like that occurring before. Does it happen if Geist is the only thing enabled?

I'll see if I can't squeeze that in, too.

Ah. Not sure why that wouldn't work. I thought you could bind 5, but it may be a limitation in the Clickbinder I'm currently using. In any case, I'll be updating Geist soon, and one of the changes is in the keybinding interface.
eh, no worry, figured it out, but i was wondering if there was a way to create a second one that pops up using some meta key and the normal bind key?

Only use one bar at the bottom

and would be nice to have a second one so i can add petstuff/macros

I'm not sure I understand. If you mean past mouse button 5, then no, as that's a Blizzard limitation. If you have buttons past that, you'll need to map those to something else in your mouse properties, and then you can assign them in WoW.

As of right now, there is no official way of doing it, because I'm a lazy procrastinator. However, there is a "feature" you can use that will leave the frame open.

Press the button you have bound to Geist, and open it. While pressing that, press and hold a meta-key (alt, shift, or ctrl). Continue to hold the meta-key, and release the Geist key. Then release the meta-key. Geist will remain open until you hit the Geist key again.

The frame isn't draggable (that I'm aware of), but it will allow you to leave it up while you put stuff in it. Personally, I just hold the button down while I'm moving stuff around.
