Drathal's HUD  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 1.4.20003
by: Caeryn [More]

Selective Player Buffs has been added. The intention of this feature is to complement, not replace, other player buff mods like CT_BuffMod. To reduce clutter, the Selective Player Buffs only shows short term player buffs. It does not show debuffs, item buffs, or auras without durations like Devotion and Trueshot.

If you feel that you would like these features, ask for them.

Hi, your hud is my favourite mod for showing health/mana but I would like it if you could have the numbers for health/mana be able to fade unless you're in combat I dont really need to see the health/mana in the middle of my screen if im targetting npcs and other non combat targets. Great mod keep up the good work.

It's sad to see this mod go. It was easily one of the best mods I have ever used. Hopefully, someone in the community will get your permission to continue on with the work you have done. Maybe i can join your guild so I can continue to get updates

I understand why I just wish there was someway to change
your mind. I will use this mod till WoW breaks it and then I

Wow...just wow. How sad. Possibly one of -the- best addons out there and definitely the best HUD folding up shop.

I was going to come here and give you a big round of thanks etc for everything, but ... then I read your good-bye. Just looking at the numbers here and at some other download sites.... 25,000 downloads at Curse, 29,000 downloads at worldofwar, 7500 here ... you have a lot of fans ... loyal supporters ... beta testers ... and you turn your back on all of them because there are some jerks out there using your code?

I dunno, I know you don't owe anyone anything, and it's probably just me talkin' after finding out that the centerpiece of my entire WoW game time might not work after the next patch or three, but with so many fans and that many downloads, don't ya think we know who the real man is?

My guess is, someone will just take DHUD now and strip it down, update it and keep it current and take complete credit for it ... but wouldn't it be so very much better if the D in DHUD would get the full credit for doing that instead?

Peace D-brother...may DHUD enjoy it's closed release run, the rest of us will just deal with the idiots.

I am sincerely sorry to hear that you will not be continuing to update this mod publicly. While I understand your reasoning, I hope that you might consider bringing this mod back to public availabilty sometime in the future. I never used HUD mods because of the difficulty of setup and poor functionality in most that were previously available. This was the one and only HUD mod I will ever use. I wish you the best and want to thank you for taking the time to make such a classy and awesomely useful piece of coding. Thank you.

- Sincerely,

Delita, 60 Rogue of Khaz' Modan.

To: Markus Inger AKA Drathal

Salutations,

Drathal’s DHUD is one of the best User Interface Add-On's for World of Warcraft going today. The original developer listened to the WOW community when questions, bugs, and advice on continuous improvement of the Add-On where given. However, that being said it is a shame the developer is not going to update DHUD anymore for the WOW population. True it is the initial Developers idea, design, and hard work in coding that makes DHUD the excellent product we know in WOW. Nevertheless, I do not remember seeing anywhere on the Add-On website or in the readme file saying the code was copyrighted material. In fact, this Add-On and all of the ones located on the various Add-On interfaces meet the definition of “freeware.” Granted some people think imitation is the biggest form of flattery, which must not be the case with this Add-On's developer. It is childish, selfish, and short sighted to punish the rest of the WOW community for such a trivial issue of vanity. The true mark of a quality Add-On is the Developer who ensures the original product is superior to the imitations and open to all of the WOW community.

You've hooked 10's of thousands of people onto your excellent hud and now you punish them because of a few unscrupulous people. That is a real slap in the face to your loyal fans and your credibility suffers as much as those who have 'stolen' your code.

^^ agreed

You made a great addon and it's sad that some one had to copy your work and not give you credit but acting like a little kid is just as wrong.

You know what? If you guys are so hooked, ask if you can take it on. If you don't have the skills, then you don't know what it feels like when someone steals your code. Unless you're paying the developer for this mod, shut up.

The people acting like little kids are the ones whining about the end of development.
