I also think keybinding the keyring is odd, but out of ctrl-B, alt-B, and shift-B there's bound to be one you aren't using, and we only open the keyring a few times a months so it doesn't matter if it's slightly inconvenient, no? Anyway that's how I ended up dealing with that change; I wasn't using ctrl-B.

I'm not a huge fan of the addition of a bunch of colorful icon buttons at the top, but I can live with those... However, having the keyring in a separate frame is very frustrating, especially as there is no way to open it from the bag frame. I do not want to have to set up and remember yet another key binding. I do not want keys shown in a separate frame. Please put them back in the bag frame the way Bagnon has always shown them!

Re: Re: Re: Ugh! Hate the new design

Den, when you open the bagnon options, on the left, click the Bagnon title and not the subtitles. From that main title you can remove the blizzard bag style backdrop and it goes back to plain look like normal.

Well Duh, of course I downloaded and installed. How else would I know that it is all borked up?

I have changed the display options and it is NOT identical to the old and useful bagnon.

Never mind. I have just pretended that this is a new add-on for me and have accepted the changes.

One thing though, when I open the bank "view" it will only show one bag. No matter what I do, it will not show all of my bank bags.

I'm trying out this new version now, and noticed four things:
  1. "Yellow for quest" has a higher priority than "color by quality", which is distracting on darkmoon cards, Black Diamonds, Fel Armaments, and other things like that. I'd rather non-white item quality have the higher priority and save yellow for "real" quest items.
  2. I preferred just to right-click the bag's title bar for config; I like anything that means one less button and a sleeker look. (This is very minor.)
  3. I liked the old player selector button more for the same reason; it was more sleek and less cute. (Again, minor.)
  4. It forgot my # of columns, and the opacity of my frame colors. (For all I know this is normal.)

Have you downloaded the addon and actually looked at the coniguration available?
If you change the backdrop setting, and the background opacity then it would like identical.

Thanks for the update

Thanks so much for your addon and for updating it, it was great and continues to be great
I have a technical question: some addons provide possibility to refill stacks from the bank or rearrange stacks to complete them. For these addons to work with Bagnon, do they have to do something special, to have some code just for Bagnon, or not?

Why did you assume that we would want the new look. I like te old look better and want it back. I have used bagnon for over 2 years. I would hate to switch addons for a more pleasing look.
Here are the changes in the 2.0 design versus the 1.0 design:
  • The keyring is now a separate frame. This was done because the keyring is a separate unit, and not one people typically need to ever look at. On top of that, there is little need for interaction between the keyring and any of the other frames, really.
  • The bag frame is now at the top of the frame. This cannot be changed. I did this because it groups all of the filter controls (text, player, bag) together.
  • The bag toggle button is now an icon, instead of a text display. I did this to make the bag toggle take up less space, especially with the move to the top of the frame.
  • Empty item slots have a background by default. This can be disabled from the main options panel (/bagnon). I added this to make it easier to distinguish special bag slots (trade/ammo/shards) from normal bag slots.
  • The search frame now has a toggle button. I added this to make it more obvious that yes, you can search your inventory/bank via Bagnon.
  • The player selector now displays a character icon based on who you are logged into, instead of a down arrow. I did this to make it seem a bit more obvious that it was a character selection button.
  • There's now a data broker display where the bag frame toggle used to be. This was added to satisfy the people who wanted a currency tracker/empty bag slot display/bank stack button/toggle bank button with a minimum amount of effort on my part.
  • The money frame now has a more detailed tool tip. This was added per user request, and cannot be changed.
  • There's now a button to access the configuration panel. This was done again, to make things more obvious to use. I may add in an option to disable this button.
  • The money frame, bag frame, search toggle button, and data broker display can all be disabled from the frame options panel. This was done to allow for a more compact display.
  • Searching is now specific to a frame. This was done as a side effect of the new search frame design. I may make searches global.
  • Searching now has a new syntax, shared by both Bagnon and Combuctor. This was done for code reuse purposes, as well as to eliminate search ambiguity.
  • The options menu was redone, and now is a set of interface options panel. I did this to both cleanup the options menu, and make it easier to find.
  • Most components now have proper tooltips. This was done to make things easier to understand/use. I may add in an option to disable most of them

Post quick note about padding

I'm not sure if it's intentional or not, but in order to completely remove all padding between inventory slots on the inventory & bank frames, I had to set the padding to -2, where in previous versions 0 did it. In 2.6.1 and 2.6.2, padding of 0 still had dead space between slots.
thx

Thumbs up nice work!

I've used bagnon since its inception, and have always loved it. Thank you for continuing the updates!

With the latest version, 2.6.2 (as of this post), some new things were added. Thank you for letting us turn off most of them (such as the databroker stuff - i use DockingStation for that), but I'm wondering how to disable the other few things.

I'd like to get rid of the frame that pops up on mouseover that says "Double click to search" or whatever. I mouse around in inventory a lot and move the frame often, so I don't want to see that pop up ever I know how to perform the search if I need it

Second, is there a way to remove the Face icon (top left) or make it an arrow like previous builds? And also remove the popup from that as well.

Finally, how can we remove the Cogwheel icon (top right) from the frame?

I loved the minimalist capabilities of Bagnon since it started. I know the popups and icons are probably put there to satisfy new users, but the ability to turn them off would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks again Tuller for the awesome work!!

Bagnon 2.0

With 2.6.0, I think Bagnon is ready for more mass testing. You can download it here.
