TinyPad is a simple but powerful notepad addon that's easy to use.

This addon works in Retail, Classic Era and WotLK Classic clients.

How to Use

To summon: /pad or /tinypad, bind a key, or turn on a minimap button in the settings panel.
To resize: Drag the resize grip in the lower right corner of the window.
The mod should be self explanatory how to use. Mouseover buttons to see what they do.

Notes

To add links to pages: Bring up a TinyPad page and put the blinking cursor where you want to insert a link, then shift+click an item, spell, recipe, quest or achievement as you ordinarily would to chat.
To view links: Click them.
To send links: Shift+click to chat as you would normally.
Links may display only a handful of characters, but they have many hidden control characters. The EditBox is not intended to handle massive amounts of text (the limit in TinyPad is 8192 characters), so keep that in mind if trying to cram the entire contents of the Adventure Journal loot pages into one page.
Searches are case insensitive.
You can bind a key to search.
While locked, the window won't go away with ESC, but you can still toggle it with a macro, key bind or minimap button; and you can move it while holding the Shift Key.
You can also run pages with /run TinyPad:Run(page)
You can add a page with TinyPad:Insert("text here adds a new page")
You can delete multiple pages with TinyPad.DeletePagesContaining("regex") NOTE: be careful with this one.
Users who edited the Lua in previous version to choose your own fonts, look in panels\fontbar.lua now. (You can replace any of the 3 fonts with your own but it will ignore a 4th font, sorry!)

Confirmed, me too. Hopefully the mod author is still updating this mod.. this is my favorite notepad mod!

One side project I was working on at one time was a "plugin" for TinyPad that would basically allow bookmarks, headings and the ability to tag a page to run on login. I agree it would be handy. We'll see what time permits.

Exporting is generally not difficult. All of the notes are stored in Tinypad.lua in what appears to be some sort of grep style, with each page having it's own line.

I've had to go in several times when I accidentally deleted something (an Undo feature would be VERY NICE), extract the information from the .lua file, and reenter it into the pad. (Note: You have to do this before you log out or it will overwrite the file with the changes.)

Sorry I didn't catch this earlier.

A new version will hopefully fix this but I'm unsure how it will interact with chat addons.

The root problem is that when another editbox gets focus now, it deactivates the chat editboxes (not only hides, but clears contents, flags and stuff). The route I went was that if you appear to be shift+clicking a link it will suppress the deactivate (or alt/etc+clicking if you change which modifier links).

This has the (hopefully minor) quirk that if you're linking stuff and hold your link modifier (shift usually) when you hit enter, the chat will go through but the editbox will remain. In regular use I don't foresee it being noticable.

If anyone has a more elegant solution I'm open to ideas, especially if there are problems linking through chat addons now.

If this continues to have problems and you're still looking for alternatives, NotesUNeed looks like a very solid one centered around storing links in a notepad environment.

Some problems - why shift-clicking a item in Atlasloot with the mouse or cursor in tinipad the linked name of the item dont appear - but doing that in chat log the item name (linked, not the simple name) appear? and why shift clicking a achievement in the achi window dont link the achi name in tinipad - but again in chat is posible to link it, sure.
