RedRange  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: v1.2-30000
by: Iriel [More]

Version 1.2-30000 is for WoW 3.x -- it wont work on wow 2.x

RedRange is yet another addon which reds out standard ActionButtons when they're out of range, mostly useful if you've got the extra buttons enabled or if you dont notice just the shortcut key color change.

This is short and sweet and in theory very efficient (It follows the same guidelines as the standard UI with respect to update speed etc, though it's better on a bar switch than the standard UI).

The latest version is triggering a popup window in wow saying that my addons are triggering massive amounts of errors and asks if I want to disable them.

If I disable RedRange this popup does not appear.
If I disable all other addons except RedRange it still appears and the lua errors still happen.

Tested on 4 different computers, two mac, two pc.

Errors:
RedRange.lua: 27: attempt to index local 'self' (a nil value)
RedRange.lua: 4: attempt to index local 'self' (a number value) - this one doesn't go away.

I am also getting the same error, and noticed it has slowed down my gameplay a bit.

Use the older version, once 3.0 hits, update to current version.

Thanks for the interim version, I made a few changes while I was doing the 'proper' 3.0 update which hopefully keep it light and un-abusive while simultaneously fixing a couple of the 'lag' issues it used to have in 2.4.

Not working for me

I never used this before the patch, because Bongos 2 did the same thing but Bongos 2 doesn't work after the patch, the same author is now doing Dominoes and recommended that his users get this mod to make out of range buttons red. I have Dominos configured and working. DL's and installed Red Range current version, it shows up in my add-ons list, but does not seem to do anything to my buttons when out of range. I am a caster, so this is important to me.

Am I missing some configuration? The add-on does not show up in the in game interface section.

Is there a way to disable the blue for abilities we don't have enough mana for? As a Warrior they're all blue out of combat and the color's so intense that it's actually giving me a bit of a headache.

love the mod tho

I know its called "REDrange", but in Bongos you were able to customize the oor color - mine was black, so I couldnt even see the buttons.

Is it possible with this one?

A few issues with 3.0.2 and Dominos.

I'm running this with Dominos, as it no longer has a range coloring option. The problem I'm having is the mod takes several seconds to update the range when I tab target or when I initially target something. (E.G. Button stay red when I'm standing right on top of the mob and in range using the ability)

Also, if I have a hotkey set in Dominos and it's visible on the bar and I switch targets via clicking or tabbing, that it will only color the hotkey command instead of the entire button about 50% of the time.

Is anyone else seeing this since 3.0.2? I've looked for options to adjust the updating speed, but to no avail.

Look forward to your response!

I encountered I small coloring bug or inconstancy:
If an ability like a Paladin judgement isn't active and a possible target is out of range, the keymap number will be drawn in red but not the whole frame.
Note that I use Dominos so I don't know if it is inconsistent to the standard UI or to Dominos behaviour.

There are no options afaik, so you have to edit the Lua to remove that. I'm no programmer but maybe someone can just show which rows to comment out or remove for you.
