Gatherer is an addon for herbalists, miners and treasure hunters in World of Warcraft. It's main purpose is to track the closest plants, deposits and treasure locations on your minimap.
The addon does not track like a tracking ability does, rather it "remembers" where you have found various items in the past. It does this whenever you gather (perform herbalism, mining or opening) on an item, and records the specific map location in its history. From then on, whenever the item comes into range of being one of the closest 1-25 (configurable) items to your present location, it will pop up on you minimap.
When you view your World Map, you will also see the item locations marked on the particular map you are viewing there.
For more information, please visit us at http://www.gathereraddon.com/
INSTALLATION:
--------------
Extract the data to your "World of Warcraft/Interface/AddOns" directory so that the "Gatherer" directory is a subdirectory of the "AddOns" directory.
USAGE:
--------------
Just use the game as normal.
When you gather things, they will appear on your minimap and your main map.
If you want to configure the addon, click the Gatherer configuration icon floating around your minimap frame or type /gather options.
Slash Commands
/gather minimap (on|off|toggle) - controls the minimap tracking functionality
/gather mainmap (on|off|toggle) - controls the world map tracking functionality
/gather dist <n> - sets the minimap tracking distance to this number of units. (in game yards)
/gather num <n> - sets the maximum number of items to display (default=20, up to 50)
/gather herbs (on|off|toggle) - select whether to show herb data on the minimap")
/gather ore (on|off|toggle) - select whether to show mining data on the minimap")
/gather treasure (on|off|toggle) - select whether to show treasure data on the minimap")
/gather options - show the configuration dialog

Re: Re: Re: a request of functionality. or i am just dumb
Burnneck,
Just noticed your follow-up, sorry about that! As to the issue, yes, Mithril is a rare spawn from iron and a few other node types. Happy Gatherering, Nikk

Re: Trouble Installing.
Pantherz99,
Are you talking about Gatherer or the gatherable items database for Gatherer, GathererDB_Wowhead? The number one dependency for the database is the main Gatherer AddOn. As for Gatherer itself, there are only "optional dependencies" that add to the experience, but are not necessarily required. Whichever item has "Dependency Disabled" should say exactly what that is, when you run the mouse over the entry. Also, AddOns function the same across all WoW-supported platforms, since they are actually run by the WoW Lua interpreter, rather than the OS. So, the download/installation is the same for everyone, download the zip file, extract it, and then place the resultant folders/directories under the ..\WorldofWarcraft\Interface\AddOns directory. Let us know if you cannot find what is missing or if it will not work after reinstalling. Happy Gatherering, Nikk

Re: Re: Re: Re: a request of functionality. or i am just dumb
When did that happen? Last I recall, Mithril was a standard node.
To Clarify further, below is the regular and special nodes: Normal -> Special Copper -> None Tin -> Silver Iron -> Gold Mithril -> Truesilver Thorium -> Rich Thorium Fel Iron -> Khorium Adamantite -> Rich Adamantite or Khorium Cobalt -> Rich Cobalt Saronite -> Rich Saronite or Titanium The reason why you got a Mithril node as opposed to a Iron node is because some zones are "crossover node" zones, which are setup to spawn both types, and are setup to use the same node points.

Re: Re: a request of functionality. or i am just dumb
Lordlundar,
True, misread that.. indeed Mithril is a "regular" node type. Suppose that happens with too much multi-tasking and not enough sleep. =) Happy Gatherering, Nikk

Re: bug with both gatherer and quest guru tracker installed
Callamity,
As noted in the response on our main forums, that is QuestGuru passing a bad value along, so then libswag/Gatherer is being "blamed". They will need to update their code. Happy Gatherering, Nikk

Re: moving show/hide button on world map
Truckndaddy,
Until the recent changes to the map with 3.3, the Gatherer button was not in any other AddOns "way". We will see if it makes sense to provide an option of some type. Happy Gatherering, Nikk

Re: NEED HELP :/
Asdqwerty,
Simply place a checkmark in the "Load Out of Date" checkbox at the top of the main WoW AddOns Control Panel. As for the DB, that is referring to Gatherer, as it is a dependency. Once you load out of date, you will be set to go. Happy Gatherering, Nikk
