nPlates 2.0
Nameplates for use with Neav UI or standalone.

Options
All Blizzard settings work with these nameplates and it also includes many custom options.

Slash Commands

  • /nplates config: To bring up options screen.
  • /nplates reset: To reset all cvar options back to Blizzard defaults.

The latest updates can be found on github.

If you are interested in localization support for your language you can submit translations here.

Currently supports English, German, Korean, Russian, and Traditional Chinese.

First off thank you so much for this amazing addon. It has replaced TidyPlates for me and I LOVE the look and feel.


I have a weird issue. I won't say it's a problem. but for some reason on ONE of my characters the Healthbar is much wider than default and this is coming from a fresh install of Nplates. No other Plate addon is running. Do you have ANY idea?



Here's what I see, you can see the width in the back.

Unrelated, but did you skin the resource bar in that video?
Yes, the health bar height and health text come from nPlates.

What do you think about making the border the default Beauty Border color and then coloring them on selection? I think it will help improve target selection. Ignore how big the nameplates are I just had them that way for testing.

I kinda would love an option to make the detection range smaller. I love the wide detection it in the open world, but in dungeons you sometimes can see nameplates of enemys (above or under you) which aren't in range and overlap with the targets in range.

The name size is handled by the "nPlates.NameSize" function in func.lua. If you replace

Lua Code:
  1. frame.name:SetFontObject(SystemFont_NamePlate)

with a different font object or something like this it should work.

Do you have Use Large Names set in the options or have Large Nameplates on in the default Name options? I tested the following code and it worked.

Lua Code:
  1. nPlates.NameSize = function(frame)
  2.     if ( nPlatesDB.UseLargeNameFont or InterfaceOptionsNamesPanelUnitNameplatesMakeLarger:GetValue() == "1" ) then
  3.         frame.name:SetFontObject(SystemFont_LargeNamePlate)
  4.     else
  5.         local font = select(1,frame.name:GetFont())
  6.         frame.name:SetFont(font,10)
  7.         frame.name:SetShadowOffset(1, -1)
  8.     end
  9. end

If you are using Larger Nameplates just swap the code to replace SystemFont_LargeNamePlate instead. In the next version I am going to setup being able to set name size via a slider so this shouldn't be an issue much longer.

Good suggestion. This is my first major project so little things like that can be overlooked easily. In the next version I will have it so it only shows the health value when full or just the percentage if they have value turned off.
