ConsolePort
Game Controller Addon

Resources
ConsolePort will give you a handful of nifty features in order to let you play the game on a controller - without inconvenience. There are a lot of tutorials and videos on how to set up your controller for World of Warcraft, but the most game-breaking part about all of them is how they in no way contribute to an easy game experience. Instead of resorting to macros and gimmicks to make the setup viable, this addon fundamentally changes how the game works.

Using the addon, you should be able to effortlessly do the same tasks with a controller as you would with a mouse and keyboard. On top of this, it will NOT interfere with your normal keyboard and mouse setup, leaving you to choose which way you want to play the game without having to rebind and reconfigure every time you change peripherals.

Using the addon

Camera and mouse control

Mouse look is a feature within the game where you lock your mouse cursor in order to control the camera in 3D-space. This state is usually triggered by holding down the right mouse button. ConsolePort utilizes this feature to a great extent to keep you from having to hold down a button on the controller in order to control your character and camera. You can seamlessly use the mouse cursor when necessary, but keep it locked otherwise.

Toggles OFF automatically when:
  1. Casting mouse spells (Trap Launcher, Ring of Frost, Heroic Leap, etc.)
  2. Picking up spells, items, macros, glyphs, etc.
  3. Using R3 or right clicking.
  4. "Interact with mouseover" is triggered.

Toggles ON automatically when:
  1. Changing targets.
  2. Placing the mouse cursor on your character.
  3. Interacting with NPCs.
  4. Looting.

Mouse behaviour can be customized in the interface options to suit your own playstyle. By keeping the mouse cursor centered on screen, it's easy to pick up items, loot mobs and target things in melee range.

Virtual cursor

The virtual cursor is a replacement for the mouse when using the interface. It snaps to clickable and interactive objects across the interface. It is controlled by the D-pad for moving and the right-hand buttons to left and right click. It can be customized to your own liking, and with a bit of know-how, you can integrate other addons to work with the cursor.
Default setup:
  • Circle or B - left click
  • Square or X - right click

Custom binding manager

ConsolePort uses its own binding system, which can be found by clicking Controller on the game menu. With 15 buttons dedicated to bindings with 4 combinations each, you have a total of 60 possible bindings. You can expand the amount further by using action pages.

I've reset all the settings multiple times and I tried this addon with grid, still the same result.

I'm using a xbox controller if that's useful info.
Any action bar addon?

The feature has been changed to work like mouseover targeting instead. Only spells that are applicable to the target will be redirected. Targeting a party member with the raid cursor will redirect your healing spells, but damage spells will still hit your main target. Check out this example of the revamp:

Sorry about the random TS and lack of sound.

The feature seems to be working, however it's still treating the old default keybinds as default. Example LT-Middle button/Home Button waas raid cursor, the new layout was(For me) RT-Start button.

I changed two keybinds around that I never used n one of my characters and it saved the profile and I was able to successfully load that profile on the new character I made.

ConsolePort has two cursors; the interface cursor and the raid cursor. The interface cursor is designed to work with the entire interface, whereas the raid cursor is designed to work with the unit frames only. The raid cursor works in combat, whereas the interface cursor does not.

If you added the VuhDo frame to your interface hooking in the ConsolePort config, then you can go ahead and remove that again. You're supposed to use the raid cursor instead. It can be toggled on and off through a custom binding, which is called "Toggle Raid Cursor". It can be found in the binding interface if you go to ConsolePort > Toggle Raid Cursor. The raid cursor is not customizable, but it will automatically find all valid unit frames on your screen, so it should work with any custom unit frame addon.

Personally, I use Grid nowadays. In the video, I'm just using Blizzard's default frames.

Healing addon

Hi,

I was looking at the this youtube video which was linked to in the description:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cTN_-Nl7Gns

I'm interested in getting the same setup, but I cannot seem to get the healing bars up and running. Are the bars in a separate addon?

/Mathias

Sent a pm by mistake. But anyways crusader strike and judgment worked fine but exorcism and templars verdict said "Invalid Target.". Heal worked fine though.

I know the raid cursor was made for healers, but I was running dailies on my ret with my buddy and occasionally he'd need a heal, so I'd bring it up and heal him (the new skin is very slick btw) and when it was on, some of my damage abilities weren't able to cast because it thought I was targeting him with them instead of the enemy I was fighting, even though other damage abilities worked. I made a short video of this if I didnt explain it well and you want a visual.
Send it. I recently made a change to make ambiguous spells (those that are both beneficial and damaging) redirect to the raid cursor, but if it keeps saying "Invalid target", then that's not intended. It's only supposed to target your friend and cast on him if it's actually possible for the spell to do so.

Btw, the intended use for the raid cursor is not necessarily only for healers. It's meant as an overall solution to unit frame targeting, which is something that healers happen to do very frequently. Intended to work perfectly for all classes and specs eventually.
