Daily To-Do's  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: r13
by: Mazaki [More]

NOTE: If you are receiving a Lua error, please reset your data in the Daily To-Do's options. This should fix the problem.
Daily To-Do's

Feel free to leave feature suggestions or opinions.
I try to implement most, if not all suggested features.

Troubleshooting / Bugs:

Before submitting a bug report, please try closing the WoW client, deleting the Daily To-Do's data from your WTF folder, reopen the WoW client, click the "Reset Data" button in the options pane, then reload your UI with the "/reload" command.

If this fails to fix the problem, please leave a bug report in the ticketing system, not in the comments.

The WTF data can be found in "World of Warcraft \ WTF \ Account \ ACCOUNT_NAME \ SavedVariables \ DailyTodos.lua"

Recent updates:

  • Enhanced tooltip information.
  • Quest completion tracked across characters and shown in the tooltip.
  • Objectives are broadcast in either Raid Warning, MSBT or Parrot when completed.
  • Tracking frame fully implemented.
  • Old tracking pane removed. All functionality transferred to new tracking pane.
  • Fishing and cooking quests separated into cities and tracked individually.
  • More customizability and configurability.
  • Bug fixes

What does Daily To-Do's do?
Daily To-Do's is an addon designed to keep of the many dailies you may be completing across many characters, servers and/or factions.
It is an easy way to make sure you are always doing all your daily objectives, whether profession, reputation or other daily repeatable objectives.
You can select any faction that has daily quests available, and they will be added to the tracking frame to be tracked for completion every day.
You can also track your daily valor run and your profession dailies. Profession dailies are automatically filtered according to which professions your character has learnt.

Instructions:
Open by typing the slash command, /dtd, or by using the minimap icon. Daily To-Do's is an addon designed to help keep track of the daily objectives you need to complete. I originally created this addon as a tool to help myself remember to do all my daily quests and heroic runs.

Upcoming features:
  • More memory use reduction
  • Improved tracking for certain dailies. (Such as Tol Barad)
  • The ability to track the farming of heroic instances

This addon was created by Rippled of Illidan Horde - US.

Version 1.6c - Bug Fixes
Fixed an issue with professions not being detected

Version 1.5a - Redesigned Interface
  • Tracking frame now displays all the previous tracking window's functionality.
  • Tracking tab in the main window has been removed.
  • Cooking and fishing quests are now separated by location, Dalaran, Shattrath and
  • Orgrimmar/Stormwind and tracked.
  • Reset data feature added in options pane.
  • Some synchronization issues fixed.
  • Memory use optimizations.
  • Miscellaneous visual improvements

Version 1.0b - Bug fixes
  • Error upon first login fixed
  • Tracking frame now lockable

Version 1.0a - Full Version Alpha!
  • Quest tracker frame implemented
  • Memory issues fixed (mostly)

I'm not sure what could be causing this or how to reproduce it.
Can you post a bug report and include a list of your active addons?
Also try deleting the Daily To-Do's data from the WTF folder.

@rza - Fixed, new version awaiting approval.

Also, can everyone post bug reports rather than copying and pasting into comments? Thanks,

Mazaki / Rippled

This is perhaps the most annoying addon I've ever tried to use.

It doesn't work, for starters.

When I click the 'options' tab and then then try to click back to 'select objectives', there's nothing there! Everything has disappeared.

I tried deleting the saved vars out of the WTF folder, did nothing.

On top of that, the tracker window pops up when you enter every zone, even though I had it set to off.

This one has a long way to go before I give it another try.

Well, could you post a bug report with a list of addons you are using?
I have no idea how to replicate this or how I could try to fix it, as I use few addons and it works perfectly for me.

I use alot of addons, too many to waste time on here.

If you want to do something productive, there's an addon that's been sitting idle for close to two years now.

It's called Dailies Quest Tracker, and it's the best daily quest addon of all time. The author hasn't done anything with it for a long time.

If you produced a fan update of DQT, you would be my hero.

I'm not particularly motivated to update someone's old addon, as the only reason I am developing Daily To-Do's is so that I have something to use for myself, and to share with others who need something similar.

However, I have taken a look at Dailies Quest Tracker, and can incorporate many of its features into Daily To-Do's.

Unfortunately, if you're not willing to help me by taking 5 minutes to submit a bug report, I can't really fix the problem.

Looks great so far, but how do I turn the tracker frame on/off with a slash command so I can macro it on my own button?

You can't as of yet via a direct slash command, but that's definitely an easy feature to add.
Until then "/script DTD.TrackingFrame:Hide()" and "/script DTD.TrackingFrame:Show()" will work in a macro

Thank you for your speedy reply.

Ok, that works for now. If you can implement it like I suggested so it can be toggled via one button, it would be absolutely great. Love the addon. Tried a few others in the past, never cared much for any of them. But this addon is very good. I love the design and how it works. Please continue to work on it and thank you for sharing it with the community.

@Carenzi: use this as your macro and it will be a one button toggle:

/script if DTD.TrackingFrame:IsShown() then DTD.TrackingFrame:Hide() else DTD.TrackingFrame:Show() end

Works for me, at least.

This error is caused by outdated save data. The fix I posted on the info page should address this issue. Just open the options pane, press "Reset Data" and then use the command "/reload".

I believe this fixes the issue.

I would like to apologize to the author for comments I made in a previous post.

I was having a bad week when I posted that.

I've loaded the newest version and it seems to be working fine so far, I'll post any issues I have in the future.

I look forward to seeing what you do with it.
