  • - Fixed an issue where the chat tab title would error if something loaded the interface options too early.
    - Fixed linking the minified icons for battle pets.
  • - When caging a battle pet, the text now turns into its icon instead.
    - Fixed hyperlinks when caging a battle pet, and then trying to link it in its icon format.
    - Fixed issue where the Combat Log could be disabled, and it made the addon try to read information that isn't there when opening the interface options.
  • - Added unit tooltips to the combat log. It is enabled in the options interface.
    - Fixed a bug where ignoring transmogrification alerts (when adding or removing appearances to the journal) didn't properly show the original messages. If the transmog option is enabled, you can further down, under the Ignore category, select to still show the default chat messages.
  • - Added a new interface option to allow you to change the chat frame used by the addon. Chat messages in other frames than the selected one will not be touched by MiniLoot.
    - Added missing translations from the options interface.
    - If tooltips are enabled, they should now also work for other chat frames, not only the default one.
    - Added tooltips when mousing over units in the combatlog.
  • - Increased options scroll size for locales using much larger fonts than the English client.
    - Improved accuracy in message parsing across all locales. There have been issues with German, Russian, Korean, Chinese, that should now be mostly fixed. What remains to be tweaked are roll based messages, those are still a WIP and being tested for.
  • - Added expected results for the general tests, exception to those related to rolling on items. I will add these soon(tm).
  • - Added better parsing for special cases, like German ordering of format arguments.
    - Working on improving the login tests to also check the contents, not just if the tests matched the text or not. This means if there are some issues with the addon, it will warn you at login that there are changes to the game that the addon can't handle. Users can then use this to make a ticket and nudge me to release an update if I don't deliver on time.
  • - Added safety net, in case errors occur when reporting the loot. It allows users to easily take a screenshot of the error and report it.
    - Fixed an issue where linking followers or currency created invalid links (using icons instead of the proper text).
    - Improved number detection when parsing messages. Specifically when numbers contained thousand separators or decimals from other locales.
  • - Updated the locale file and updated files to use the module and fetch translations. You can help translate the project at http://wow.curseforge.com/addons/miniloot/localization/
    - Removed unused config value as the feature wasn't implementable.
  • - Added the Legion bodyguard experience to the messages.
    - Adjusted code for better Warlords of Draenor support.
  • - Hotfixed live roll duplicates. Working on a proper fix for legion.
  • - Added follower experience messages.

My config window looks the same, and I have no font-adjusting addons (or UI adjusting, for that matter) so it must affect the default settings as well.

Another thing that I noticed is that I can't figure out the loot rolls. I had already set it to not summarise it, but still it makes no sense to me.



Maybe I'm a ditz, but I honestly can't tell who won what item this way.

Hmm, looks like a bug. I am gonna test this out and reply, it's not supposed to look like that at all, it's supposed to look like this (rolls and winner):

I think I found the error, try the uploaded hotfix version 1.2c and see if this is now fixed -should be!

The problem was that it tought the roll decision was item loot, so it got the data mixed up and used the item icons as player names and the numbers were the rolls instead of the item icons the player had looted -not to mention it wasn't summarized at all and just -indeed, looks like chaos! :P

Once you try 1.2c it should be more obvious what is what. The reason for the bug is if you in the config set "Should a shorter summary of roll outcome be printed out together with the other message?" to "No", then the chat would look like that. -That or the one on the top about roll decisions, if that's set to "No", if at last if both are "No" then maybe you get the bug you got.

Put up 1.2d and I am sure this will fix it because I on purpose changed around the variable and made it error on purpose, to check if the addon would correct corrupt data -and it did. Hence this error should now be history -finally!

One typo I found in the loot rolls: disenchant only has 1 s.

While I'm really grateful that you considered my requests good enough to add them to your addon, there's 1 thing that I think got slightly overlooked - I'd really like to be able to hide the loot my party members pick up in a dungeon. At least the basic stuff; I don't need to know how many pieces of cloth or fish scales they get. I used to have it hidden with C8, and now that I can condense my loot prints to an even further extend with MiniLoot it now feels like it's cluttering up my window, haha. Stupid how easy how you can get spoiled, isn't it?

I didn't forget that, at first I simply wanted to get the config GUI done and working, and that variables were saved right without problems -you notice there were some errors due to variable issues, so I am glad I could get those fixed first before continuing on with the other features.

I will add a function to hide party loot below a certain item quality, so you can say you only wish to see rare items or higher but hide all others from showing. This is for 1.3 so watch for favorite addon updates one of these days.

Put up 1.3, keep in mind that if errors 1.2d is in the archives, hehe.
Anyway let's try these new settings out, you can hide all party loot or set a threshold, meaning items equal to it or above this will be shown.
Let's say someone loots a rare or epic item, even if you set all party loot to be hidden the threshold option will still show the loot event since it's kind of important, like a highlight.
You can still totally disable all party loots by setting the threshold to "hide all" instead of a specific rarity. That way you can say goodbye to all party loot messages.

After having used version 1.4 for a while, I can say that I'm really enjoying it. I just keep forgetting to create the loot window when I log to an alt for the first time, but that can only go wrong 18 times before they're all set.

Forgive my earlier impatientness, I completely forgot that you had done the 'quick-fix' before working on the rest.

And my thanks for taking suggestions/requests from users to heart; there are many addon authors who don't seem to read these comments, let alone do anything with it. I appreciate it when authors take the time to consider such posts and either use them or at least post to explain why they won't.

I am glad things settled with 1.3 (1.4, are you from the future?), I kind of noticed problems were fixed when things quiet down a bit.

There is always room for improvement, my plan is for 1.4 to add the configurations in the addon settings under interface, so I can remove the slash command entirely -it's kind of pointless and when you got a ton of addons it's lame having to remember their commands, it's much easier seeing it on the official addon settings list!

I was thinking also adding locale, I noticed Korean fellows may like to use it so I should perhaps make a simple locale system (nah I don't like using AceLibs, it's good and smart but usually larger than my own code for simple things, hehe ) -in any case I am glad there aren't bugs around now and that things work just fine.

I like to listen to feedback and if it's worth it I implement it as well as I can.

Uploaded 1.4 and it has a new and better config system, also accessible from the Interface->AddOns interface, no more slash commands! No major new features for now, but it's also easier to translate, just gotta go trough the code and look for L[""] parts and put the translation in the lang.lua file. Just sayin'.

It's experimental, use 1.3 if you experience errors. I'd appreciate reports if you do get errors with 1.4 so I can fix those, hehe. I've changed a lot so wouldn't be surprised if errors occur, tough it does look good on my end so far.

Hrm, typo.

Anyway, one thing I noticed is that party members's loot isn't printed in the Loot window. Everything else that I've hidden (rep, xp, money, etc) does go there, but party loot doesn't.

It might be because I have the font set to 12 in my chat windows, but I can't make out the difference between common (white) items and quest (beige) items. The red stands out really nicely, but that's such a contrast that it just has to.

Oh, and in the options GUI (which is a welcome change from slash commands, I'm not too fond of them as I often forget them) there's a place where you need to enter the name of a chat window.. I didn't quite understand that bit and tried to enter "Loot", but then it printed something in my chat window about "this needs to go to bla" and then my "Loot" was changed to "ChatFrame1". It confused me, but I just left it as is and nothing seems to be going wrong.
