famBags is a player bags and bank override add-on. It's heavily influenced by Baggins and its main goal is that you have complete control over the organization and look & feel of your inventory, all this supported by a vast set of configuration options and features including:

  • Supports SharedMedia and Masque

  • Bags organization: [All in one bag], [Normal bags], [Custom categories]

What? You don't want all this pain in your life? Don't worry... there are presets!!

Presets now include 'Della Casa'. This is the one shown as portrait in WoWAce/Curse. You'll need SharedMedia, pHish Media and Masque_Darion to see it shinning but its not mandatory.

Commands for options: /fam, /fambags

You can open famBags bags by assigning a keybind to "Open all bags" or "famBags/Open bags". Also left click on LDB display will do the trick.

This add-on is my personal contribution to this great community, I hope you enjoy it.

  • Phrases in namespace InGame_Translations must be done exactly as it appears in your game client, including Capitalization. The item types and subtypes you can find it in the search tree of your Action House.

Go to options and disable ordering. That should show items ordered by bag slot.

Heyo, just discovered this mod last night. Honestly, I love it to peices already. Far better than any other bag mod I've used/seen. However, I have one question. I like using the one bag option, but it still organizes my stuff in a really odd manner. Is there any way to make it not organize at all if that option is on, to where I could move stuff around how I like?

Usually, items that can be used exhibits a property called spell name. That's what this criteria is about. Ordinary food's spell name is 'Food', ordinary drinks spell name is 'Drink' (activate 'Show items info in tooltip' in famBags options, it shows a lot of useful info including spell name). Convoyed food and drink and food that offers buffs as far as I know always go as 'Refreshment'.

Take a look at criteria declaration, you'll see a combo box before the input box where you specified 'Bar'. That combo is used to declare which type of comparison criteria will apply. Options are: Exact match (default), Contains, Starts with and Ends with. Probably you are using exact match, use 'Contains' or 'Ends with' instead.

'Incremented' criteria is a complement for 'New' criteria. It matches items recently arrived to your bags which aren't actually new. Example, if you have 3 Linen cloth in your bags and you loot 2 more, you'll see your Linen cloth marked with a '+' and it will match 'Incremented' criteria until you reset the 'News and incremented' items

I'm confused about how the "Spell" criteria and the "Increment" criteria work.

I assume that Spell looks for a word on the tooltip? I'm trying to separate Food and Drinks. If I put "Drink" as the string, the food & drink separates correctly. If I put "Drinking", like it says on the tooltip, the category doesn't work and Drinks get lumped back with the general Food category.

Another example: I want to separate out the smelted bars from the base stone and ore. If I set up a category using "Bar" as the string, the category stays empty. I assumed "Bar" would work since that's the text on the tooltip. What am I doing wrong here?

As for Increment, I just don't know what it does?

Type/subtype are values assigned by game to items, famBags doesn't manipulate those but just read them in order to use it as parameters for classification. You'll need to find a way via criterias or fixing a category for the item.

About empty slots: The way famBags shows empties is the result of a long ideas exchange process. It solves a lot of issues of organization when operations are happening frequently in bags, helps on maintaining an acceptable performance and then it helps you not to go crazy looking for empty slots in your bags, they are always in the same place. All this means in short: Sorry, it won't be changed in a near future.

thank you for the "and not" command, that solved a bunch of problems. some reason "quest and not keys" still picks up quest keys. but "armor and not binds on equip" worked great. below is a screen of frenzyheart brew incorrectly labeled as armor. below things like darkspear pride is considered a consumable (both use:costume items) but was able to filter it to "other" problem with the frenzyheart brew, its "armor:misc" and so are rings and trinkets.


also, am i overlooking the databroker display options? more specifically id like to change 26/104 to 78/104 corresponding to bag slots taken rather than free

EDIT: also looking to disable the empty key slots, it seems pointless, and make empty slots share a line instead of being on its own

seems to me it doesn't recognize the command "not" like it does "and" or "or"
I've checked your configuration. Take a look at ur Quest and Others categories. They have red letter wich means that variable is not declared as criteria. Fix that and tell me if it solves the problem please.

Also 'and' and 'or' are mandatory in logic sentence, so, A not B makes not sense for interpreter, it should be 'A and not B' or 'A or not B' depending of what u want.

The Quest category you are trying to build should be:
A = Type/Subtype: Quest -> All
B = Quest -> All
C = Key
Logic = (A or B) and not C

With that u should be able to put Keys at the end of Categories safely.

Also, take a look at default categories implanted as part of presets, it can serves as base to build your custom categories. Notice the fact that applying a preset including default categories will override ur current configuration so make a backup of ur saved variables famBags.lua before doing that if u are planning to come back to ur old categories.

to be more specific, "Armor" is fine alone, as soon as i add "Bound Status" as a criteria, those 5 items (legs, wrists, and 3 trinkets) all drop down to "Other" before i even set the soulbound state.

i am also trying to find a way to set up a Tools category for hearthstone, jeeves, army knife, and other eng stuff, but doesn't look possible, yet.
and i want to black list improperly marked armor (wormhole generator, frinzyheart brew etc.) so they get sent down to "Other" once again, no luck

Weird the armor issue.. I can't reproduce it at all. Can you send me your saved variables famBags.lua please?

Tip: activate Show items information on main options, it will help a lot when building categories.
