QuestHelperLite

QuestHelperLite is an unofficial branch of QuestHelper aimed at providing the core subset of features in a slimmed down lighter version. Although some of the code and art assets of QuestHelper have been utilized, QuestHelperLite has been rewritten from the ground up and is in no other way affiliated with QuestHelper and those who have worked on it in the past.

The main deviation from QuestHelper comes from not utilizing a custom database to store quest objectives and locations. Instead QuestHelperLite gets all of it's info from the game itself. This has the advantage of providing a more compact addon without the need to update once new quests are available in game. If WoW knows about it, so does QuestHelperLite. Although this provides for a much lighter and compact addon, it is not without faults and some features of the old QuestHelper are not currently possible.

The core subset of features included in QuestHelperLite are as follows:

* Quest Pathing - Calculates an optimal route for you to follow while questing
* Tracking Arrow - A configurable arrow guides you to your next objective
* World Map Icons - Quest objectives are viewable outside of your current zone
* Ant Trails - Ant trails show the best calculated optimal route
* Context Menus - Context menus are displayed when you right-click objectives
* Ignorable Objectives - Ignore unwanted objectives

QuestHelperLite will stay updated with donors like you!

I'm also experiencing the "starting zone auto-accepted quest text disappearing" bug described here (on worgens in particular). Not a huge problem, though, if I remember to just disable the mod before starting a new character. I know you're trying to keep this mod light on extra features, but there are a few things missing from the old QH that I hope you'll bring back: - ability to change waypoint arrow font - option to display ETA to the destination under waypoint arrow - make waypoint arrow point to your corpse when you're dead - option to manually prioritize ("send to top") a specific quest - option to manually ignore a specific quest Other than that, it's pretty much perfect. I'll probably send a donation your way soon ;-*

I did however have that problem whenever I ran Mapster (with or without QuestHelperLite running). So you might want to check your other addons, specifically mapster.

I've never used Mapster.

I retested this today making a brand new Orc Shaman with no addons enabled at all. The quest was automatically accepted and added to my quest log even though the quest window was open and I could still hit "accept" (again this is a blizzard design feature for novice areas only).

I logged out, deleted that character, created a new one of a different name, and enabled QuestHelper Lite only. When clicking on a quest giver, the quest was automatically accepted just like before, but the quest text completely disappeared from the quest window.

In my interface > Objectives I have "Automatic Quest Tracking" turned on. When I accept quests the objective pops up on my screen for a split second, then somehow qh will completely remove it. The arrow never shows up at anytime.

When I disable qh, my objectives are displayed again.

When you accept the quest, WoW automatically begins tracking it (if you have that option turned on). Then if QuestHelperLite determines that quest is not on your path (either out of level, group or on a different world) it removes it. So that split second or two is the time it takes QuestHelperLite to figure out whether it should path it or not. There are a few circumstances for this:

If the quest is a lower or higher level from your current level and you have the level filter turned on, the quest will not be tracked.

If the quest is a group quest and you are not in a group (of the suggested number) and the group filter is turned on, the quest will not be tracked.

If the quest is in a different zone and you have the zone filter turned on, the quest will not be tracked.

If the quest is on a different world or instance (Azeroth, Outland, Deepholm etc.), the quest will not be tracked.

You can turn these filters on/off using "/qh" or "/qh zone" or "/qh level" or "/qh group".

If none of that helps you, please post all the info of the quest you are having issues with, your current level and your location in the game world.

It fixed this issue. I was on my way doing low quests for the resetted achievements.

Try "/qh reset" and let me know if that works.

Also, level and group filters are on by default now. So if your quests are not +/- 3 levels from you they will not be tracked. To disable these new filters, you can either go into the options "/qh" or type "/qh level" and "/qh group" to toggle those settings.
