Hi Zilver,
I just returned to playing Wow and found your Fan Update for SpartanUI. I love this UI and will do what I can to help you get it up and running. I know nothing about code so I can be little more than a crash test dummy.

I made the changes you listed in R61 and R63 (hopefully I did them right).

Upon entering the game I got the following error message and a prompt to reload the ui. Afterward, everything seemed to be in place except for my bags, it only displayed my backpack.

A small update have been uploaded into the Google Code repository Rev 63,
it fixes the issue with the Blizzard Art Bar, and updates the Vehicle Bar ...
it's still code in an early testing phase, but if you want you can get it and test it.
(no Release holds this yet, it needs more testing, and i hope to combine it with a few other things)


Can't say for sure if I really need more, but the UI scale would also be great,
it can be found in ( "WoW"\WTF\Config.wtf ) just read the file with Notepad or something similar ...
the value of interest is: "uiScale".

Allright. My resolution is 1920x1080, SpartanUI scale 0.7. What other information did you need?

I can see that something is wrong with the scaling, but haven't had a chance to look deeply into it yet, but it's high priority ....

That said:
Time spend in the approximately 1 month since I uploaded first time here is more than 130 hours,
this isn't an easy task, I'm trying to understand code someone else wrote ... and modify / fix / rewrite parts of it.


@martiny: Actually you didn't ask a question, you came with a statement, however I do see the underlying question that you didn't ask ...
You left out what resolution you are using, personally I play on a 21½ inch screen with a resolution of 1920x1080, and a UI scale of around 0.64 and SpartanUI scale of 0.8,
everything is tiny, but I can have ALL shown and still find room for chat, Recount & Omen on the sides of SpartanUI (FanUpdate) ...
I did see your picture and it does look messed up with the height, but I don't have an solution to offer you at this moment,
maybe if i figure out what is wrong with the scaling your issue will fix it self,
but i simply can't sit here and guess how to solve it, I need to do a lot of testing every time something isn't working like expected to figure it out.

The more relevant information I have the better i can figure out what is going wrong.

Had any chance to look at the limited scaling for 4320x900 resolution?

I am using 0.7 atm, and my screen is 24".
The wideness of the chat is okay, but the height is just wrong, and can't be adjusted to any smaller.

Personally I would scale Spartan a tiny bit more, but that depends on how you feel ....

# = the number you want tot scale SparanUI ... my personal scale is 0.84, but if your screen have a very small resolution you might wanna go smaller like ... 0.7

Look at the list of options i have posted below... If you want your chat panels on the sides (on SpartanUI) this is what i would do.

/sui scale 0.8 ***If this is too small for you go back to 1.0***
/sui backdrop bar5
/sui backdrop bar6

Bar5 will be the box on the left and Bar6 is the box on the right. Depending which side you want to put your chat box in.

Yeah, I was wondering how to make your SpartanUI bigger so that you can fit in chat panels and such on the sides? Thanks for a great addon!

Hopefully this coming week will give me more time to code, and update information.

Anyway I'll be moving around the 1st of December, so wanted to give a notice about it,
I'm unsure if I'll have Internet around that time so support & coding might come to a halt (around the 1st December) until the move and the RL stuff that comes with it have been dealt with,
