Angele Dei - tank rotation helper  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 1.1.1
by: merlecorey [More]

Version 1.1.1 is here. Minor bug fixes, some documentation change, and... oh, right. One major addition listed below. This version is even more experimental than the last one (and that means new and exciting bugs).

v1.1.1 release notes:

  • Support for Druid tank rotations.
  • Minor bug fixes.

If you come up with a better Bear rotation than what I have right now, please post them in the comments. I'll try to include it in the next maintenance release.

- - - -

If you are a current user of Angele Dei version 1.0.x, I strongly recommend deleting the old files before installing 1.1.x. The addon files are located under <wowdirectory>\Interface\AddOns\AngeleDei. Also, please note that all 1.0.x configuration settings will be lost once you install 1.1.x.

- - - -

A few documentation files are available in the doc directory:
  • getting started.txt - read this if you haven't used Angele Dei before
  • faq.txt - a list of frequently asked questions
  • config.txt - a more or less detailed documentation of configuration options
  • rotations.txt - description of pre-defined rotations for intermediate and advanced users
  • editor.txt - rotation editor documentations for advanced users

v1.1.1 release notes:
  • Minor bugfixes.
  • New and exciting bugs that I haven't managed to find and eliminate yet.
  • Support for Bear tank rotations.

- - - -

One of the major problems with version 1.0.x was that it was very difficult (if not impossible) to make changes to my rotations without breaking anything. This was one of the major reasons why I couldn't switch to the new rotations when patch 4.1 was released. So, I went ahead and re-wrote the simulation code from scratch to make it more maintainable and less fragile. It also allowed me to introduce some other features people might find useful.

v1.1.0 release notes:
  • A complete rewrite of the simulation core. Hopefully this one will be more stable than the original code.
  • Rotations have been updated for patch 4.2.
  • Three single-target rotations and two AoE rotations to choose from.
  • A few usability improvements.
  • User-configurable rotations are now supported.

Hrm. This thing's getting complex enough to warrant a FAQ or something.

Anyway, here's an abridged version:

1. Go to your interface options. There will be two rotations: one single-target, one AOE. Set up your keybinding labels (this is optional, but I find it makes my rotations easier to execute).

2. Go to your keybinding options. Bind a key to "toggle single-target / AOE".

3. Press that key to switch between your rotations during combat.

Strange. Does it react to "/ad on" and "/ad off"? Do you have an error reporting addon such as BugSack? If you do, could you check whether you get any Lua errors?

Edit: The other post you quoted is rather old. I've made quite a few changes since then. Do you have the latest version of the addon?

Thanks mate

this is a really nice add, very helpful and it is working now, but i needed
to do some things first in order to get it to work
1. deleted the files in add-on library
2, removed the angele dei lua file in saved variables
3. installed the angele dei files again
4. started wow again and suddenly i could do everything you wrote

so thanks mate and keep up the good work

regards karanthar

Please post LUA error stack traces that you get when you try to load AD.

Is it possible to make the addon auto-disable himself when paladin is not in Prot spec? I use two rot addon (ret/prot) and boring to disable manually when I switch my spec in raid.

On the to-do list, actually. I dual-spec a lot and turning it off manually every time is getting slightly annoying.

There is no lua error, it just shows 3 HP dots and the icon of Hammer of the Righteous, nothing else, and doesn't function except charge of HP.

Oh. Gotcha... that makes sense.

You can upload the localization file to any file hosting site I can download from and send me a PM with the link. I'll include it in the next update.

Thanks in advance.
