Gnosis (Castbars and Timers)
Gnosis is a highly configurable castbar and single timer addon. Gnosis can show ticks of channeled spells, detect unintentional clipping while channeling and combine data of channeled spells to combat text addons (MSBT, SCT, Parrot). It also allows to create buff, debuff, and cooldown (spell, rune, item) timers with a similar set of options castbars have.
To visit Gnosis' development site or to grab alpha&nolib files go to Gnosis @ CurseForge
For questions or comments please visit Gnosis' official forum thread
If you find any bugs or have suggestions create a ticket here
PDF documents containing a general introduction to timer bars as well as an overview of Gnosis timer configuration commands and options can be found within the Gnosis addon folder.
Gnosis also allows to create as many castbars as you like and does not force predefined bars onto the user. The "casts" of following "units" can be shown:

Meleeswing
Is there any reason the meleeswing bar shouldn't be working while in cat or bear form for a druid?

Re: Meleeswing
Please post requests and comments on Gnosis' Curse website (at least if you want me to reply), I won't answer on wowinterface. http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-a...ls/gnosis.aspx To your problem: I'll look into it and eventually fix it (haven't had the opportunity to test Gnosis with a druid). Please post your next comments on curse (if it's not meant as information for wowinterface users). |

I am looking for a replacement to AzCastBar and one thing I would need is the ability to keep track (as separate cast bars) stealable buffs. ACB calls this TargetAuras and has a specific option called Show Stealable Buffs which when combined with Show Buffs and nothing else will show me bars for all the buffs the target has that are stealable. As a mage this is invaluable. Does your addon do something similar, and if not, can that feature be added?

What you are asking me to do is to implement a dot timer into Gnosis which I am completely unwilling to do (you are talking about castbars which are showing the target buffs but that's missing the point). There are multiple addons out there that supply users with awesome (de)buff/cooldown timers. And I admit I'm no fan of all in one addons. I prefer to pick addons which provide the exact features I'm looking for. I also think many people are afraid of using multiple addons for no good reason, nowadays most addons behave quite well performance wise. Remark: People still seem to be unwilling to read the addon description saying that I won't answer on the comments section of wowinterface. I very well respect wowinterface but Gnosis main website is the curse(forge) one. If you have requests or comments which you want me to reply to post your comments on curse please. This will be my last reply here (which does not mean I won't read the comments on wowinterface from time to time, I just won't reply). Have fun, hope you will find a way to also use Gnosis. |

Was going to replace AzCastBar with this beauty until I couldn't figure out how to align the cast time text to anywhere else but the default position at the right of the bar. Looks like I'll be sticking with ACB unfortunately.

I really like your addon! If you have time at one point, I'd love to be able to move the spell name and casting time text above the cast bar. I overlay my cooldown line (fortexorcist) on the castbar and with the text there it just looks too messy.
Thanks |

This is an awesome castbar, I love it! So much better than the other ones with their janky skins. This is nice and original.

Default configuration
Have you considered improving the "out of the box" experience of this addon? Personally, I think it would be much more useful if it came with a player castbar with a sane default configuration, and the blizzard castbar hidden, out of the box. Configurability is well and good, but many addons skimp on the default config (do dominos and bartender4 *really* think I want 8 actionbars in the middle of my screen? unlikely, at a minimum they could anchor to the screen edges by default...).

Re: Default configuration
I'd still prefer if people would post requests on curse. But I'm always open to good suggestions how to do things better.
What is a "sane" default configuration? What do you not like about the basic configuration of castbars? I'm always open for suggestions. I'll consider creating those standard bars and hiding blizzard castbar/mirror bar on first start (per character).

Re: Re: Default configuration
It usually makes sense to optimize for the common case, not the less common, and trying to cater to everyone is an exercise in frustration, but that's just my personal opinion In this case, it's lovely that it's this configurable, and you've done an excellent job with that, I simply think someone should be able to install the addon and test it out immediately without having to jump through hoops first. |
