Threat Plates (TP for short) is a addon for customizing your nameplates. It offers a high amount of customization and tweaks to how your nameplates react and look. It also offers some unique features that are not available with any other nameplate addon. I've spent a considerable amount of time improving this addon and any comments or concerns about this addon are appreciated. I'm always looking for ways to improve this addon.

Features:

SharedMedia support and many, many, options for name, health, level, and spell text. As well as all of the standard nameplate features such as castbar and icon, elite icons / textures, skull icons / textures, raid marks, and healthbar coloring/alpha/scale.
Ace3 profiling.
Low memory footprint.
Threat system management.
Automatic talent detection and role assigning for an easy out of the box setup.
Customizable widgets.
Customizable totem nameplates.
Customizable nameplates for extra customization for specifically named units.

Commands:

/tptp - Displays options.
/tptptoggle - Toggle Role from one to the other.
/tptpdps - Toggles DPS/Healing threat plates.
/tptptank - Toggles Tank threat plates.
/tptpol - Toggles nameplate overlapping.
/tptpverbose - Toggles addon feedback text.

Additional Information:

A considerable amount of information about options and its internal priorities are not gone into details. Most options that are enable or disable based will toggle off options that are no longer changeable once enabled or disabled. I've been working on my UI a lot lately... Threat Plates needs a lot of work, but there are a lot of things preventing me from diving into it.

I already have a lot of new ideas for some new things, but I can't incorporate most until tiger posts a new release for TidyPlates. (I'd rather not use betas in my UI release.)

Some things I've thought about:

HP coloring depending on raid marking (functional on friendly nameplates as well).
Info widget, guild, guild rank, etc, etc.

I obviously need to release a localization version, but before I can do that I need to redo a lot of the options to make it a bit more simple and less objects to have translated.

molgaar A Kobold Labourer Forum posts: 0 File comments: 2 Uploads: 3	Hey. first off, thanks allot for letting us enjoy this awesome addon.. however there is just a few tiny parts of it, where i think could be improved a little. might be just me that got rly used to it, but my last nameplate addon i had, had the chanse to change the color of the font to "class collor".. however this helped me allot as it's hard to have 1 collor for all class when u want to display hostile as 1 collor and friendly as 1 collor. if i use class collor on font on bars it wouldnt help me , because u will always get problem with for instance a shammy (blue collor) and friendly nameplate collor withch is blue as well. if i change this, i could change it to light blue, but then it looks like mage.. so having the chanse to use 2 collors on 1 bar would help allot.. also i notice the border is different when im inside instance and target mobs, then it is when im inside arena. the differnce is that the border in pve overlap (overlap targets i dont have targeted) witch is good when i want to see my target nameplate more visable then non target, but in pvp the border for "target" dont overlap, (border hide between other namplate bars) so if there is many nameplates at one spot, u dont see the border at all. it would also be nice to have a chanse to hide nameplates by "name" so for later use i could just blacklist a name of a mob or player /pet i dont wanna see. but moste important is font collor i think.. anyway thx again, and hope it was not too big request best regards Molgaar Last edited by molgaar : 06-11-10 at 05:07 PM.

Anyway I can see how most people wouldn't use it (and to be honest I rarely would use that too in 25man raid), but I find it handy in 5-10 man instances and also more fun since you don't have to keep watching the unitframes all the time and you can watch a bit more of action

(I find it REALLY useful while tanking though since when I see a mob running away I can just click on the tidyplate to taunt it ;D)

I could but pressing 1 keybind is a whole lot easier than making something that could do it for you. If anything you could get a separate addon for that I'm sure.

In order to hide HP and other details, you'd have to create a new nameplate style for each totem which would take a lot to implement. Using 2 styles is doable but will take some time to implement.

Even doing so would really add to some problems with clicking the totems anyway considering their mouseover area would not be visible.

All normal nameplates can be scale above 100%. up to 200% like you posted below. but only "special nameplates" like pets/boss encounters/etc are limited to 100% just like the screenshot you uploaded on frontpage.

if not please tell me how to fix/find. =p thank you for ur reply tho.

I getcha, I'll add some additional scaling later on. Still working on a major update.

Also, are there any plans to enable a class color option? (As in Priests have a white health bar etc). I know you had it with Cleanplates and I loved that option. Amazing work =). EDIT - Can't figure out how to delete this post, but when I got in arena everything was tip top. Probably just wasn't working in Dalaran and I couldn't give a rats ass about that. All normal nameplates can be scale above 100%. up to 200% like you posted below. but only "special nameplates" like pets/boss encounters/etc are limited to 100% just like the screenshot you uploaded on frontpage.
