That's a better way of doing it.
6.3.3 did address the issue, by changing line 550 to: CurrentDebuff.name = GetSpellInfo(tonumber(spellid) or 0) Of course, none of this addresses the underlying issue of, "Why are crappy values in my tables?"

the nil check probably is better way of doing it.
as for why crappy values are in table? same reason probably why i have to have a nil check in 2 functions in DBM for no reason, values that should never be shitty sometimes are. i actually had to put a nil check on raidtargetindex cause sometimes it returned something other then 0-8 and a function was just like "wtf is this shit". it should never return anything other then that, why it was is beyond me. 4.2 bug perhaps with the new raidflags. |

6.3.4 should correct all of those errors, hopefully.
The silly thing is that I played all of last weekend and didn't encounter those errors, so I decided to upload. I didn't think that the internal api functions/events would be sending so much bad data. But I'll be looking more closely at internal verification of data from here on out.

Re: Re: Re: Guild/npc roles
To quote myself... "It doesn't do guild names."
That said, guild names are already being cached. In one beta version, guild names were visible. I don't have specific plans, but I expect that the feature will make a re-appearance at some point.

tracking spells by Spell ID
So, today I was working on TidyPlates and editing the debuffs the addon shows to help me tracking it during a fight but, as a rogue, there are a few skills that apply 2 different debuffs on the target.
As mostly knows, Hemorrhage apply a debuff that increase the damage done by bleeds on targets by 30% (which lasts for 60 sec. and I dont need to track) and a dot that lasts for 24 sec. (and increase all damage done by me to that target by 16%, via sub talents). The thing is that both of this debuffs has the exact same name, "Hemorrhage". So i cant filter the debuff I dont wanna track. The addon has this feature already? If yes, how can I filter a debuff by Spell ID?If not, I think it would be a good sugestion. Thx |

Re: tracking spells by Spell ID
Perfect timing ;-) Spell ID is supported, as of 6.3.4.
Ex. Debuff Mode, By Prefix... MY Rip or MY 1079

Re: Re: tracking spells by Spell ID
Unfortunatelly my problem persists, both IDs 56807 (glyph, which does the bleed effect I want to track) and 79147 (talent which increase dmg on bleeding targets) shows both the effect I mentioned previously... I just cant find the exact Spell ID for this effect... But, about the addon, it works! |

was something changed in latest version with caching nameplates? It's gobbling up memory like crazy in firelands or any other area with a ton of name plates, especially lord rhyolith heroic. it's like it caches every name plate it creates but doesn't clear them, so on a fight like rhyotlith that gets adds after adds after adds after adds, it's using 20-30M of memory for a single fight. if a force a garbage collect it dumps all of it. but i wonder what on earth it's doing, is it not clearing it's own cache when mobs die or leave FoV? i don't remember earlier versions doing this really. i don't think it's really affecting cpu usage at all but i like to keep my lua memory space very low, i raid with 8M used tops.

TidyPlatesCore.lua was last modified in r290, so it might be the debuff widget. The last several updates have pretty much been aimed at improving it. It's possible that the cache is eating up gobs of memory...
Previously, I used several two-dimension tables to store data about the expiration time, spell id, texture, etc, on a particular GUID. I recently updated this to use a single three-dimensional array. It's possible that the overhead of having those extra tables (which get wiped when they've expired, which could be why the garbage collector trick works) is causing the extra memory use.
