nUI: Integration Carbonite (continued)  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 3.0.1
by: Carz [More]

You do need nUI core or nUI+ for this to work

make sure you have the up to date Carbonite addon also
All credit goes to xtrapwr

This adds a Carbonite Infopanel to the nUI system. It will toggle the Carbonite mini map on and off, allowing you to keep Carbonite snuggly in the lower right. However at this time the add on CANNOT move or resize the Carbonite window. You will have to do this manually, however you only need to do this once.

Also, as switching the Info Panel status does toggle display of Carbonite, please consult the steps for initial setup.

1) Download and unzip the nUI_InfoPanel_Carbonite(continued).zip

2) Move nUI_InfoPanel_Carbonite into your Interface/Addons folder

3) open WoW, and toggle the InfoPanel until Carbonite is visible.

4) open the Carbonite minimap (it will likely have closed itself) and shrink the size by clicking the lower right corner of the mini map and dragging up.

5) move the now small mini map into the empty Info Panel pane

6) align the upper left corner of the Carbonite mini map to the upper left corner of the empty Info Panel pane

7) re-size the Carbonite mini map to fill the rest of the Info Panel Pane

8) Congratulations, you now have Carbonite nice and neat in nUI!

Unfortunately I can only manipulate Carbonite using the publically accessable slash commands, so there is no automated way to resize and move the map into the Infopane space. If this changes, I will update this Integration

KNOWN ISSUES

If you use the Carbonite world map and pull it up when the Carbonite Info Panel is NOT visible, this can de-sync the Info Panel if the map shrinks instead of closes after use, and you will get a Carbonite window overlapping whatever Info Panel was present. Fix this by manually closing the Carbonite mini map.

Re: Carbonite togle doesn't apear on the info panel

The instructions for this plugin say to intall it to the ...\Interface\AddOns\ directory. I did so and tested the plug in and and the plug-in didn't activate. I noticed that the decompressed files ended up in ...\Interface\AddOns\nUI_InfoPanel_Carbonite(continued)\nUI_InfoPanel_Carbonite\. So i removed the redundant folder and tried again, with no luck. I also tried installing the folder and files in to the nUI folder, the plugins folder, and also recreating the WTF folder, all to no avail. I'm not exactly a pro at this but i've reconfigured my .lua files several times and I'm stumped this time. Any sugestions?

When to DL nUI_InfoPanel_Carbonite (continued) it should save to were ever you save it

inside
Code:
nUI_InfoPanel_Carbonite (continued).zip
there should be a
Code:
nUI_InfoPanel_Carbonite (continued) (unzip)
open that file and there should be a
Code:
nUI_InfoPanel_Carbonite
move that file into
Code:
C:\World of Warcraft\Interface\AddOns
and all should be good also there nothing you have to do with any of the .lua at all. you dont put this into
Code:
\World of Warcraft\Interface\AddOns\nUI\Plugins
there no need too

*** UPDATE 7-29-09 ***

After scratching my head for a while I renamed my CACHE and WTF folders and started WoW.

Problem solved. Don't know how or why just that the issue is now fixed.

** Note this also resets any other Add-on settings that are stored in these folders. ***

If you go to your WTF.old or whatever you named it you can copy over the files that you need and paste them into the new WTF I do that all the time when I do my monthly clean of the WTF it shoulf look something like this
Code:
C:\World of Warcraft\WTF.old\Account\ACCOUNTNAME\SavedVariables
where C is where you put WoW when you install it

you going to most likely want the macros-cache or bindings-cache that's in
Code:
C:\World of Warcraft\WTF.old\Account\ACCOUNTNAME
Well if you use other macros or key bindings you just go into the
Code:
C:World of Warcraft\WTF\Account\ACCOUNTNAME\Severname\Toons name
