Bagnon Beta  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 4.2.2
by: Tuller, jaliborc

Have a question? Check the Bagnon wiki first!

Bagnon is an addon that merges all of your bags into three frames: One for your inventory, one for your bank, and one for your keyring. Beyond the basic all-in-one inventory functionality, Bagnon also provides the following features:

  • Items can be colored based on quality
  • Quest items can be highlighted
  • Text searching (see syntax below)
  • Offline viewing of inventory information from your other characters (via Bagnon_Forever or Bagnon_Armory)
  • Databroker plugin support. Both the inventory and bank frames allow you to display a databroker plugin in the bottom left corner. I find this works well with things like Currency Tracker

Included Addons:
  • Bagnon - Provides single window displays for your inventory, bank, and keyring
  • Bagnon_GuildBank - Provides a guild bank display
  • Bagnon_Config - Provides a means of configuring said frames :P
  • Bagnon_Forever - Enables the ability to view your character's bank, or items from any other character on the same server, from anywhere. (You need to log onto each character at least once for this to work).
  • Bagnon_Tooltips - When hovering over an item, this tells you who has an item, and where.

Slash Commands:
  • All commands can start with either /bagnon or /bgn
  • /bagnon keys - Toggles the keyring frame
  • /bagnon bags - Toggles the inventory frame
  • /bagnon bank - Toggles the bank frame
  • /bagnon config - Displays the main options menu

Search Syntax:
  • Bagnon 2.0 uses the same search syntax as Combuctor.
  • Typing a search without any modifiers will perform a "smart" search. For example, typing "armor" will find all items of type "armor" as well as any items containing the word "armor".
  • To find an item by name, simply type the items name. Typing "silk" will find all items that have "silk" in their name.
  • To find an item by type, subtype, or equip location, type t:<search>. "t:weapon" will find all weapons. "t:main" will find all main hand items.
  • To find an item by quality, type q:<quality>. "q:epic" will find all epic items. You can also use a quality number. "q:0" will find all grey items.
  • To find an item by name, type n:<name>. "n:muffins" will find all items with names containing "muffins".
  • To find items in an equipment set, type s:<equipmentSet>. "s:fire" will find all items in equipment sets you have with names that start with "fire".
  • Searches can be negated using the ! operator. "!q:epic" will find all items that are NOT epic.
  • A union of two searches can be performed using the | operator. Typing "q:epic|t:weapon" will find all items that are either epic OR weapons.
  • An intersection of two searches can be performed using the & operator. Typing "q:epic&t:weapon" will find all items that are epic AND weapons
  • The following search keywords are also supported:
    • boe - Bind on equip items.
    • quest - Items with "quest item" in their tooltips.
    • bop - Bind on pickup items.
    • boa - Bind on account items.
    • bou - Bind on use items

4.2.2:
* Jaliborc: Added ButtonFacade support

Under the options, "Display a background for empty item slots", uncheck that.

Ran into the sticky tooltip bug someone mentioned a few comments down, add-on in question was a slightly modified version of Broker Bags. I don't *think* my tweaks (color-coded quantities using code I modified from another bag add-on) had any affect but I can PM them to you if you'd like.

So with 2.3.0, I've rewritten the saved settings backend. Basically, any setting on the main options panel is now global, and any setting on the frame configuration panel is now per character. Auto display settings will be global.

Beyond adding in profiles (which I've decided not to do), I think this takes care of the majority of annoyances with configuring settings.

Also, the defaults for frames have been adjusted to not be crazy. Not to mention I now have control over defaults :P

Is it me, or is there a slight, half a second freeze/pause in the game when opening my bag to view my inventory? Original bagnon doesn't do this, is it a graphical glitch or does my system just suck?

Nope! One addon you may want to take a look at is BankStack, though. It provides a LDB plugin which you can display on the Bagnon window for quick usage :P
Even better than BankStack, IMHO, is JPack. It's much lighter weight, much faster, also provides an LDB plugin and prior to 2.3.0 the author 'stuck in' a button to sort and restack your inventory -- looks like 2.3.0 broke his 'Ex" button extension, but /jp still works fine.

But if you just want stacking, not sorting, kRestack will auto-stack and it's also lighter weight than BankStack.

(No offense Kemayo, love your mods -- just prefer the less memory intensive options)

About 1 million things can cause that symptom. Your system might just suck. It might even be Bagnon. It might be a combination of things. But you will never know unless you have this issue when only Bagnon is running.

On my system, I've had such symptoms tied to auction house addons, tooltip addons, inventory and guild addons that track bags/bank across multiple characters, and tradeskill addons. I even had it happen once with a bag addon. But it wasn't Bagnon that time.

I've not implemented any optimizations yet, which is why you're experiencing such a thing. Take a look at the memory usage when opening and closing a frame :P

and can you add a pre-defined category buttons just lke the bag buttons next to search box? like; consumable, weapons, armor etc.. which highlights the items when you MOUSEOVER AND CLICK that button?
No, but Combuctor can do quick filtering.

Going to give this a shot, I love Combuctor, but I don't really (never) use the filters so they're kind of useless for me to have. Hopefully you can get the optimization in soon because I think this'll be exactly what I've been looking for.

Always loved Bagnon in terms of looks, but you got me stuck on Combuctor right now, Tuller. Both wonderful mods in their own aspects. I just don't think I could do without the quick filtering of Combuctor though. Bagnon's search features are nice but realistically, I can't be bothered to type just to see which type of items I'm looking for and such. Quick sorting features simply makes things easier for me.

Nice work with the new Bagnon . I like the new layout better and highlighting quest items made my day. I think I might even get some use for that broker on the bottom ( thanks for making optional though ).

Here's my main todo list before I call 2.0 a non beta release:
  • Add in a way to turn off the inventory, bank, and keyring. These settings will be global. Odds are, they'll also require you to reload your interface so that I can enable/disable reusing blizzard bag slots (2.5.x)
  • Add in auto display event options (ex, auto display when at the AH). These settings will be global. (2.6.x)
  • Optimize code. (2.7.x)
I don't plan on supporting the "Hide a bag in Bagnon, have clicking on that bag in the main bag frame open a Blizzard bag" behavior with Bagnon 2.

No major issues with this yet, the quest item highlighting is great and I love the broker display, great for holding my mail notifier. Looks like I found my new bag mod.

when i swap bag with a profession bag the colour of the slots doesn't get updated right away and there is some mixup, you have to close and open bagnon for a refresh.
