oUF Asym UI - Widescreen  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 2.5
by: Dawn [More]

Main purpose of creating this UI was to create a lightweight interface that runs on my shitty PC, without losing to much utility and without looking like crap.
The name simply comes from my oUF layout. This UI is build around it.

The UI basically doesn't need a setup ingame, since version 1.9. All custom settings can be done by lua.

oUF_Asym UI is made to work for 1440x900, it works out of the box for 1680x1050 and 1920x1200, ... should work for all widescreen resolutions.

It comes with A LOT of different bartextures and fonts, see oUF_Asym fonts/texture folder and dArt folder.
There is also some nice art to play around with located in dArt/Art.

i.e.

I don't use any UI scale at all. I don't have this option checked. Or in other words this UI is basically build around an UI scale of 1.0.
If you are using another resolution as 1440x900, you might have to adjust your UI scale until it fits.

FEATURES:
- no setup, works out of the box for every (new) character
- very lightweight, it uses around 970kb of memory, around 1MB in raids
- a clean interface without glitches (even in combat)
- a lot of options to change the look of frameborders, textures...
- a lot of fun while playing .... hopefully
- last but not least, pretty decent support ... i'm trying, really! *cough*

NOTE:
1.) Pretty much any addon included in this UI is heavily customized, I don't take any credits for this.
However, you shouldn't update any of the addons, manually!
2.) If something spits out errors or stops working, tell me please.
3.) I will only support this to the point where it comes to bug fixing. If you want to customize it, you are on your own.
4.) Read the changelog, it contains usefull information!

SETUP:

1.) backup you font, interface and wtf folder
2.) Extract everything into your \WorldofWarcraft\ folder
3.) Make sure you rename YOURACCOUNTNAME to ... guess what ...

This and That:
* Blizzards Calendar is accessible by right clicking on the minimap
* Tracking is accessible by middle clicking on the minimap
* Chat frames minimize after 20seconds of inactivity - you can change the duration in Chicchai
* You can move all bag frames by holding ALT.
* to open a GM ticket type /GM or /ticket
* to reload your UI type /rl

Some addons that you can customize easily are:

*actionbars
rActionBarStyler\rActionBarStyler.lua

*unitframes
oUF_Asym\layout.lua

*chatframe (minimize/maximize effect, borders, background)
Chicchai\core.lua

*dFader (handles fade out of frames, when you are out of combat or without a target selected)
dFader\dFader.lua

*!LynColors (handles all kind of colors,... class colors, mana color, health color, ...)
!LynColors\core.lua

*dMinimap (Minimap addon, you can choose between round or square shape, change the borders, color, position, ....)
dMinimap\dMinimap.lua

Known issues:
1.) FogBG is used to display animated *.m2 files for the minimap. Some instances display *.m2 files different, there might be some glitches. It's still ok for my taste, since it doesn't happen that often. If you don't care for those fog animations at all, simply delete FogBG from your addon folder.
2.) Quality ID doesn't like "bound to account" items, it spits out an lua error while trying to show their itemLvl.

@ Dawn & JannikN

Thanks for the help.

For the chat border, I did something looking good with dArt to replace my chichai problem.

About MSBT, I was thinking that it's a bug because if I remember well, 1.6 MSBT config wasn't as it looks like now. I set it up like I want now

@cassiius
That's right! I actually forgot to re-add it, after testing several other bar addons, my bad. Sorry! Please download it from wowinterface, manually. I'll put that in later. Since I'll be gone for the weekend.

Damn, I hesitated to much on this release.

@ashopedies
Thanks for pointing it out, didn't know that.

@Malrus
I don't know, maybe a screen would help, but I didn't change anything on MSBT settings that's why I supposed it's not an issue.

Raidframes

Hi there. I love the looks of the raidframes, but i need some help.

I'm currently using GRID and it's configured so that the second i invite someone to my PARTY it pops up as PARTY in my grid, meaning i don't use partyframes, i see my party in Grid. I want that from these Raidframes aswell.

Translation to make it sound easier: When i invite someone to a party i want it to show in the raidframes and not partyframes.

Is there anyone who knows how to do this in this code? Been trying to find it, but i just don't. :/

PS. How do you make the distance between the raidframes smaller?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Raidframes

@all
I "updated" to 1.8c ... which features ..TADDDAAAA!!! ... Dominos in the download file.

@demetri
It's a very new addon, maybe give it some time. How is the memory/cpu impact ?

While everyone tries to show 5man raid as party, you want a 5 man party to be shown as raid. I love people

Honestly, this is very custom and I'm afraid this is up to you to find it out. The frames are currently coded to show a 5 man raid as party, maybe you can start from there. It's at the very bottom of layout.lua.

Fixing with those lines doesn't help anything :/ I've exhausted all my options as far as my lua-skills goes. if anyone knows how to do i'd be more then happy.

Thanks in advance

This is a very lovely UI, although I am having a number of issues with it.

The first and biggest issue I have is the font size. I've looked around and...well, I can't figure out what's what. It's simply too big. In fact...everything's quite big. Especially the character/social/etc boxes. I have habits of maneuvering, fighting, even raiding with those things open at times, and they are taking up a -lot- of screen real estate. Is there any way to resize those boxes and shrink the font size/change the font type? If so, what is the slash command to bring up the options menu?

Following that theme, what is the slash command for the unit frames? I'd like to be able to target myself by clicking on myself.

Also, what do I do to detach the tooltip from the pointer?

By default "F1" is targeting yourself (that's just like the default way blizzard handles it.

The chat frames are a bit bugged, right now - the size is fucked up, had no time to investigate that issue, yet. Reseting the chatframes helped for me

If everything is to big .. what UI scale do you use ? The UI doesn't use any UI scale, you should switch that option off (and /rl afterwards).

And like always, a screen says more than 1000 words to help fixing bugs.

Hello.

I am annoyed that raid frames wont load if i log in during combat (i.e. huge issue if one crashes during a boss). The issue seems to be explained here.

Basically I want to know: Would you consider adding Class Colors compatibility as an option in your ouf configuration?
