World of Warcraft addon for detecting, managing, and tracking hostile players.

Currently entering beta phase. Please be detailed in all bug reports.

Features

  • Detect enemy players (Horde or Alliance) in your area and see a list of the most recent activity.
  • Indicate if enemies are engaged in PvP, what they are casting, and who they are targeting.
  • Track kills of, and deaths by, enemy players and guilds.
  • Keep notes on enemy players and guilds.
  • Mark enemy players and guilds as KOS (Kill On Sight) and get alerted when they are detected.
  • Turn on Tracking for an enemy player and get alerted when they are detected by another Stalker addon user.
  • Send enemy position alerts to most channels (Say, Yell, Guild, Party, Raid, or Whisper)

Modules
  • Stalker Monitor - Shows the most recent enemy player activity. Player information is on the left, and spell and target information is on the right. Players in this window will fade out over a short period of time if there is no activity from them.
  • Stalker Viewer - Shows a history of all enemy player and guild encounters. It contains player information, kills, deaths, and your own notes. Player without kills, deaths or notes will automatically be removed after 24 hours.
  • Stalker Alerts - Fully configurable alerts that tell you when enemy players, KOS players/guilds, and Tracked players are detected.
  • Stalker Agent - When you are Tracking players the Agent communicates with other Stalker addon users and alerts you if someone detects the the player.

How it works
Stalker works by monitoring your combatlog. When it hears someone close by it attempts to guess their level and class based on the spell that they cast. So if it hears someone cast a Rank 5 Siphon Life, it identifies them as a Level 63+ Warlock. Note the + after the 63. This indicates they may be higher, but we only know they are at least this level. Once you target or mouse over the player Stalker will be able to determine definitively their level and the + will be removed.

What Stalker DOESNT do
  • Doesn't give you special abilities. All its doing is monitoring your combatlog and making that data more accessible. There will be times where you see an enemy right in front of you, but if you don't target or mouse over them, or they are not casting anything, Stalker wont know about them.
  • Doesn't tell you precisely where players are. The map coordinates that it generates for enemy players are YOUR position when you detected them, not theirs. There is no accurate way of determining their position. But since the range of the combatlog outdoors is 100yds, you know they are close if its alerting you about them.
  • Doesn't work in Battlegroung and Arenas. It's designed for world PvP.

Fixed bug with KOS Guild introduced in last commit.
Fixed bug where GetZonePVPInfo() was not reporting that player was in a sanctuary immediately after login. Added a initialized flag to delay combatlog and player targeting 5 seconds.

that way all the carbonite users would feed users of your addon some of the information also (and theres a ton of carbonite users)
indeed making it able to communicate with carbonite quest would be a huiuuge plus

3a. If they DONT look normal an easy fix is exit the game and delete the chat-cache.txt file from World of Warcraft\WTF\Account\<account>\<realm>\<character>. If you dont want to do that you can try to /leave the channels (/leave General, /leave Trade), restart, then rejoin the channels (/join General, /join Trade)
4. Reenable the Stalker Agent.
5. Restart the game and make sure every looks good in the Chat Channel panel.
it worked, but after relogging again the stalker channel is back in /1

If you disable the Stalker Agent and restart (or relogin), what channels are General and Trade? Also, if they are back to their normal numbers, try reenabling the Stalker Agent WHILE the Chat Channels window is open. Does the Stalker channel bump them down?

well it's a bit strange, when reloging this morning all channels were back in place, I'll keep you in touch if it happens again and eventually if I can reproduce this behaviour.

I'm having the same problems, whilst I'm in a zone questing /1 no longer is General... /2 becomes General and /1 becomes a Stalker channel

Sounds like you have an older version. Make sure you download the latest one. If that doesnt solve the issue disable the Stalker Agent, restart wow, then reenable the Agent.

Confirmed - using the newest version available.

After making the suggested change - it works, but upon logging out and logging back it, it returns to the same problem (/1 becomes Stalker channel)

Will go back to Paranoia until this problem is resolved

Can it share KoS lost with your guild only? Also a bounty system like Codegreen's KoS would be nice, though one where you can specify the number of kills you want for the bounty.

Still getting problems with it taking priority as channel #1.

Perhaps put like a 3 minute delay before it joins the channel StalkerAddonIU?

Also, why is it IU instead of UI?

anyone know where i might be able to edit the join channel delay myself? or activate it? I know for example, addons like myrp allow you to go into one of the files and change the delay manually, but i can't even find the code in this one. Any addon writers have any advice on editing the addon to fix the channel bug?

I can get this add to work on all but two toons. I have the add enabled in the log in menu. The only two toons it does not work on are the two I want it to work for. Tried resetting, reloading, latest version, keepson coming up a nile value. Any ideas on what to try?

if u have bug with astrolabe then replace astrolabe lib =)
