DevlinUI  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 5-r2
by: Devlin [More]

*** BE SURE TO FOLLOW THE INSTALLATION NOTES BELOW ***

DevlinUI is now updated to 4.2!

The UI in action - 25 man raid
http://youtu.be/DaxHrV0lFZw?hd=1

NOTE: This UI is designed to work based on my own preferences and conditions first and foremost, which means

Resolution: 1920x1080
Situation: PvE (10/25-man Raid)
Role: Rogue/DPS
Using this package under different conditions may or may not result in a horrible looking UI and/or require additional configuration.

NOTE: If you are not using this UI for a Rogue, you should active ClassTimer and deactive ChronoBars in the Addon listing at the character screen. I have not set up ChronoBars for any class other than Rogue. You can easily set up ChronoBars by yourself if you know what to do though.

I will not include any addons that I do not use myself. Requests of this sort will be discarded.

Issues
  • Updating PhanxBuffs manually will most likely result in a different look than the one included in this package.
  • As this UI is setup for rogues in particular, there may be some power (holy power, runes etc) and/or pet issues for the other classes.
  • If you come across an error or issue please let me know by posting in the addon comments.

Installation notes
  1. Backup (really; Backup! Backup! Backup! Backup!) your existing WTF and Interface folders in your WoW directory, then remove them.
  2. Unzip/unrar DevlinUI5-r2.rar and place the containing Fonts, Interface and WTF folders directly in your WoW directory so it looks like this.
    \World of Warcraft\Interface
    \World of Warcraft\WTF
    \World of Warcraft\Fonts
*** Remember to do the following steps for EACH account/character you want to have this addon-pack installed for ***
  3. Open the WTF -> Account folders, and rename the "Account name" folder to your own account's name.
    (example: Devlin)
  4. Open the "Account name" folder you just renamed, and rename the "Server name" folder inside to correspond to your server's name.
    (example: Outland)
  5. Open the "Server name" folder you just renamed, and rename the "Character name" folder inside to correspond to your character's name.
    (example: Devlin)
  6. Launch the game.
  7. When in the game, it will look like a total mess. Don't worry, it's fixed with one simple command!
  8. Type:
    /reflux switch DevlinUI
*** Please note that this is CaSe-sEnSiTiVe! ***
  9. Enjoy the game!

Absolutely love your UI.

For anyone wondering, this installed on 1360x768 perfectly, no modifications. I think if you're the same ratio as Dev's, you're fine.

Yep, it's updated for 4.2 now! Sorry for the delay, been busy progressing through Firelands

Biggest change is that I've moved over to ChronoBars. It allows for much more customization than ClassTimer. However, I have only set it up for my rogue, so if you are not a rogue you might want to enable ClassTimer in the Addon list at the character screen instead.

Please note also that I have moved over to 1920x1080 resolution. There might be a 1680x1050 version coming soon, but it is not a priority.

EDIT: Okay, nevermind. I fixed it up how I wanted. Anyways, thanks for the awesome pack. Hope you don't mind that I borrowed the kgpanel related skins because I love the "minimalistic style" of them.

ClassTimer works fine for be but it could just be your case. All you have to do is go in and remove classtimer and delete it settings and reinstall the addon if so.

I got a little heads-up to give you guys. I have recently bought a 1920x1080 monitor, and therefore DevlinUI will become a 16:9 package. I can't promise I'll release it for multiple resolutions, however I will keep this version (DevlinUI 5-r1) available for download for those that use 1680x1050. After you've downloaded it you can update all the addons manually or via Curse Client, and it should work as intended.

The 16:9 version should be out within a week or so.

And nice one Ferret

Figured it out, been using it for last 2 days or so and no problems so far.

Parent/Anchor Frame: GridLayoutHeader1UnitButton1
Anchor From/To: Top Left

I enlarged the frame and moved it around Grid to set it up how I generally wanted it. It fades and appears upon leaving party or gaining a party. Hope this helps any.

Edit: Also, is it possible to have the panel set for grid disappear/reappear as you enter/leave a raid as well? Thanks
You can anchor kgpanels to whatever elements you have on your screen, so long as you know the name of it. You use the "Parent and Anchor" settings and enter the correct element you want the kgpanel to parent/anchor to.

Earlier in my making of this UI I was trying to anchor the "Raid" kgpanel to Grid, but I was getting unexpected results where the panel could position itself at random, so I simply don't use an anchor for that particular element. If you find a way to do it properly and consistently right, then by all means let me know

The UI will be updated for 4.2 shortly, I'm just waiting for the addon authors to get their addons stable enough to not have to update the UI multiple times. Should be sometime this week perhaps.

Nothing is changing, it's simply waiting for the addons

It's perfectly fine if you want to update the UI manually via for example Curse Client, works like a charm! Just make sure you always backup your stuff.
