MetaHud - Nuckin Branch

MetaHud - Nuckin Branch is a Heads Up Display Add-on for World of Warcraft 3.0 and above. It is a continuation of the original MetaHud by MetaHawk which was discontinued after Patch 2.4.3.

Although MH-Nuckin is a continuation, it isn't the same. MH-Nuckin is focused on remaining encapsulated as a self sustaining Add-on without requiring other libraries. As thus, its feature set differs from MetaHud's.

As of v30100-8.0, MetaHud - Nuckin Branch no longer includes a cast bar. I suggest using my stand alone cast bar called Circle Cast.

MetaHud - Nuckin Branch Features: (as of v30100-8.0)

Curved Verticle Health, Mana, Rage, Energy, and Runic Power bars for Player, Target, and Pets.
Target's Target Name and Health Bar.
Reskinnable Bar Backgrounds.
Death Knight rune support.
Movable Death Knight Runes.
Skinnable Death Knight Runes.
Target Buffs (40) and Target Debuffs (40).
Countdown timers on all Target Auras.
Movable and Resizable Target Auras.
Target range indicator.
Target guild display.
Resting, PvP, Combat, Leader, and Looter icons.
Text based Threat Meter.
Unique HUD texture that are exclusive to MetaHud - Nuckin Branch.
In Game graphical configuration tool to make MetaHud look and feel how you want.
Savable Profiles per Warcraft Account.

In lieu of the missing cast bar, would you (or anyone else) be able to make any reccomendations of some MetaHUD-like mods?

Regardless of which mod I wind up using, I thank you for all of your work in keeping the mod up to date!

Go with IceHUD, MetaHud is approaching end-of-life.

Well I would hate to see that happen, I have used MetaHud since DHud's original author stopped producing updates, when I mentioned the ToT Health bar problem it was only to bring it to your attention, not to complain.

I have tried IceHud and a few others when the original author of MetaHud stopped working on it, and I found them to be far inferior.

As for the cast bar, I never used it, I use Quartz which I find to be a very good cast bar, it even allows for latency so you can start casting your next spell sooner, which is great for me as I am in Australia and play with latency of 600+ most days.

Its mostly not because of WoWInterface users. I have worked on 8.0 for 4 months, tested it for hours. I have brought Alpha builds to Ulduar progression raids, done UI Refreshes inbetween Yogg-Sarron attempts. I personally loved 8.0 and was very proud of it.

My fan base has let me know that they don't want new innovative improvements to the classic HUD design, They just want more features packed into a design structure that cannot accommodate.

Curse.com's MetaHud following was rude to the point of my disabling of comment posting on the Curse project page for MetaHud.

But everything is up in the air at the moment and I haven't made any final decisions on the direction I will be taking my projects, both released and unreleased ones.

First off, I was one of the people that panicked with 8.0 but I didnt post any flaming comments. My problem is that when something casts, i need to see the cast bar on my targets mana bar. Im a rogue and there are ALOT of situations that i need to pop CoS or kick, and i can not afford to look away from the center of my screen. I depend on that feature which is why i downgrated to 7.6 immediately. I didnt notice that it was missing till i went down from emy's first nova... My entire UI and every addon i have installed is based around metahud, it is the foundation. even my keybindings. Everything is set up on the principle that my eyes never leave the center of my screen during combat. The aura's on teh left and right are a nice feature but, i cant use those cuz i have timer bars on the left showing me my cooldowns and on teh right showing me my buffs and target debuffs to maximize rotation. when those auras popped up they covered up enough of my bars that i couldnt time my rotation down to the thenth of a second as i usually do, which dropped my dps enough to hurt me bad (during an interview run for a raiding guild). So i was very panicky when it was released. ---I would happily go back to 8.0 if i could have my cast bar back, and id just disable the auras.--- *NOW to the real reason i came to post, i have a question. The cast bar is not coming back, that is final. And the option is in 7.6, I'm not supporting 7.6 anymore so you're on your own.

wow... ok I cant blame u w/ not being happy with what other people posted, but no reason to be an asshole to me over a legitimate question. And noone can tell you what to do or not do, but when LOTS and lots of people are upset that you cut something in favor of your other castbar addon... you might wanna listen up.

Apparently im staying w/ 7.6 permanently. Thanks for answering my question so eloquently

There is no threat "bar", the only thing in this addon that shows threat is that percentage.

I hope that you will still update on curse just ignore the hell out of most of the SOBs on there. Cause untill wowinterface gets a download/update tool for addons im probably going to keep forgetting to update this addon if this is my only spot to download future updates from. again great mod can't wait to see what it will do in future releases.

hmm... intriguing... there seems to be a rogue bar being added by ur addon,
