WoW memory required?

Hello, I am wondering what memory and/or game card I would need to purchase for this game to be efficiently played on a Dell Dimension 2400 PC that's a few years old. It's got the standard 80GB hard drive and 256MB of memory.

Any advice regarding how many megabytes, RAM, and all that I'd need to get would be GREATLY appreciated!

THANX.

I'm running WoW on my comp, with 1.8Ghz processor, 256MB RAM and a 128MB gfx card.

I would reccomend upgrading to at least 512MB of RAM though....i definatly am, probably going to go as far as a GB.

My experience has been that WoW uses between 600-700MB of memory when it's running, with about 20MB of addon memory in use.

512MB or less will likely have somewhat degraded performance, 256MB likely has VERY degraded performance.

I'm running WoW on a Dell Inspiron 8200. It has a 1.7g P4, with a 64 MB GEForce GoMobile card, and 1G of Ram. The ram is key. I run the game with 82 addons running and 42MB's dedicated to addons (of which I use about 30 on average).

I keep most of my graphics at minimum settings, but can cruise through 40 instances wihtout hardly any lag.

If I could do anything, it would be to upgrade my Video to 128MB or better. But I will say again, RAM is key! My system is maxed at 1G, else I'd upgrade further.

My experience more or less parallel's Iriel's. WoW uses about 700-800 megs including UI. I noticed minimal gain upgrading from 1 gig to 2 gigs of RAM. Note that this depends on what applications you run in the background. You may experience an increase in performance if you run a lot of programs in the background in addition to WoW and upgrade over 1 gig.

Video card wise I'd recommend at least 128 megs of dedicated video RAM for WoW. Shared memory is bad .
