Pet feeding

Ok, noob question....since pet happiness is no longer a consideration... do we gain anything by carrying around extra food/having a feed macro/ feeding our pets at all? As a hunter, of course, I meant to add~

It heals your pet for %50 of its health but only when not in combat.

So, next to useless, in my opinion.

Well you have Mend Pet which heals for 40% of max health over 10 seconds, but think you mean just the skill in general being useless, but unless you have those critter bite things still out that buff your pets (if they are still around) I don't see the point of the spell either ^^v

I had a reason to use it, now I don't and I probably will remove it from the bar. :P

Well I like it for the classic feel, however I think if you fed your pet buff food you cooked it should also gain those buffs.

(On the other side of the fence if you use your pet as a taste tester when your working on your cooking, there is no greater reason to cook everything right then having a taste tester that can rip your face off if said food tastes like crap)

I have played a hunter since vanilla.. I actually miss having to take care of my pet to make sure that it wont runaway. However, I do NOT miss the retarded pathing that pets had back in those days. Some things have gotten better, some things worse... and some have disappeared completely.
