AdvancedIconSelector Out-of-Date

Hey,

I downloaded an addon called AdvancedIconSelector and it seems it is out-of-date. It is something I'd very much like to be able to use now. I downloaded it again just to be sure it wasn't an issue on my side so there is no need to suggest re-downloading.

Have you checked "Load out of date Addons" in your character selection screen?

I use this addon and it works just fine. Use the "Load out of date addons" checkbox. Blizzard put it there for a reason -- not every addon needs to be updated for every patch. In fact, most addons do not need to be updated for every patch. I still have several addons that have been working flawlessly without any updates since the Burning Crusade.

I can't find Loa of Constitution spell icon or Loa of Ferocity spell icon anywhere. I've used the search function but the icons don't show up.

The search function relies on keyword data, which based on the date of the last update obviously doesn't exist for newer spells. You'll have to scroll through the window manually to look for it. Keep in mind that icons that do not appear in the Blizzard macro icon list and do not have any keyword data won't show up in AIS either; if you want to use such icons for your macros you'll have to set them manually:

/run local name, _, text = GetMacroInfo("MacroName") EditMacro(name, name, "Interface\\Icons\\Some_Icon", text)

The addon could in theory scan all possible spell IDs and add all their icons, but that would require a good bit of rewriting in the addon.

I'm not the author of the addon, and have no intention of taking it over or publishing any unofficial updates, so there's absolutely no way for me to predict when, or if, anything will ever be added to it.

If you absolutely must use icons that aren't present in the list, use the code in my last post.

The two spells mentioned are NPC spells, not player spells, so they wouldn't be of any use in a /cast macro where #show would have the desired effect.
