Linking a looted item with a looting mob

Hi,

I'm searching for a way to associate a looted item with the mob that dropped it.

I've seen several events and functions related to loot and item but nothing allowing to retrieve the associated mob. I hope I missed something, perhaphs one of you found a way to do this ? Combinations of event reactions and functions call to achieve this ?
