Additional Minion Modules???
 

Okay I've been checking for the last few days for a similar thread, so forgive me if this info is already around somewhere. I was just curious to know if there was any more info on what other sites, if any, are developing modules for Minion. Now I know that it is still in beta, but anything come across the grapevine as to integration with other sites? I personally would like to see Curse write a module so that I could grab the add ons that are not hosted here. I would also be interested in finding out what other opportunities are arising via Minion modules.

The Norganna's team is working on one. I know that wowui.incgamers was, at the very least, seriously considering making one. There will be some coming from some of the other Zam sites. Not sure who else at this point.

Admins and mods have been discusssing possibly making a module as well.

Great to hear. I hadn't seen anything on this since the original mention of the modular system. Happy to see some things are in the works.

Actually not in the works, Curse is still deciding if they'll make a module. It seems it will depend if Minion will act exactly like the Curse Client: choke the addon version check, download speeds and restriction of one addon downlaod at a time for none Premium members.
If for some reason Minion can not work exactly like the Curse Client, then most likely Curse will not make a module because Minion will take away paying customers.
Shirik believes Minion will work as needed by Curse, but we won't know unless Curse makes a module for Minion. If Curse releases it, then we know Minion works as planned, if they don't, we'd only know if Curse decides to tell us.


Minion looks like it will be everything Shirik and WoWI hopes it'll be (barring the modules which they have no control over) and if other sites make modules, there be little need for the Curse Client.

Don, you're answering incorrectly. Yes, there ARE modules in the works. Curse isn't the only other site out there. :) See my post above.

As for the Curse stuff, we have already talked to them, they know about it, they know they can configure their module to respect their Premium Membership/Non-Premium Membership restrictions. That was already covered in other places.
