Hidden post number showing on New Posts list
 

I don't recall this happening until after I hid the RealUI section of the forums, but now I have (for example) 13 new posts when there are only 4 posts in one thread.

Realizing that makes no sense, even in my own head, here's a screenie. ;)

Yeah, this has been an issue for years. Shouldn't be too difficult to change. I just got into the habit of hitting "Mark all forums as read" after reading everything that does show up.

Been waiting a week for some type of official response. Can this bug be fixed?

Sadly there isn't a hook in that area of vBulletin to modify that query. So its not an easy fix.

Looking into just hacking it into vBulletin however it will be awhile. I normally like to do things through the vBulletin plugin system so that when patches are released I dont have to remember to re-hack various files.

You can press the "Mark forum as read" link on the same dropdown menu to reset that number. I know you shouldnt have to do that but it does work for now.
