Isn't it much more simple to just delete all the carbonite folders from your addon folder.
And after that install the folders from the latest version of Carbonite.
Then you don't need to search for a typo in a file :)

I do that every time I update carbonite. I just want this to work in Blackwing Descent... does anyone have carbonite running LUA error free in that raid zone?

I have to disable Carbonite in Blackwing Descent also.

My FPS drops to ~10 with Carbonite.

I've not run BD yet.
If you're getting a ton of LUA errors, the best way to help would probably be to report the error that you're getting. Copy/Paste it in to this thread so that they have some clue to work from.

Please refer to the first page of thread, someone posted the error I'm pretty sure everyone else is getting. Not to mention this was a known problem with Stonecore and that got fixed.

Just for fun, get in a raid and step in BD, I'm pretty sure if your lua errors are set to be shown you will get thousands of them stacking and your frame rate will drop, if you aren't set to see lua errors then you will just notice the dramatic drop in your frame rate. (You can turn on lua errors in the interface options someplace.)

Wyldhunt 01-10-11 01:12 AM

The reason I mentioned it was because the error posted on the first page was marked as fixed, followed by some people reporting that it was working for them.
That leads me to think that there may be a similar issue on a different line of code causing a similar issue in different areas than the one that was fixed.

Mostly, I just wanted to make sure that the error was the exact same error and it's not reporting a different line number now.

If it is the exact same error that you're getting, then I guess there's still something else broken.

issue has not been solved in latest update

Antelope 01-26-11 02:50 PM

I have given up on looking for any type of solution to this, even though there was just an update, this problem has remained untouched or looked at (I'm making that assumption based on the lack of replies from moderators on any of these fps topics). The most frustrating part of all this was that it got fixed for stonecore, but BWD has been overlooked, and it was due to a simple typo. Even requests to get that typo so we could fix it on our own has been ignored.

I donated to this project way back and I even donated $5 to the author again to try and get into the "member forum" and my application to get into those forums has yet to be replied to, I guess $5 wasn't enough to get into that area (that was around two weeks ago). In the meantime I'm slowly replacing everything carbonite does with other addons. It was a good run while it lasted.

I have donated to addons before with remarkable outcomes, authors were supportive and appreciative. This donation has gone unnoticed and unappreciated, and will be the last.

This topic is to request a fix for a bug, not to whine about it not getting fixed.
so please dont.

Haavok 01-27-11 04:49 PM

Is this problem only happening in Blackwing Descent?

My Wife was in DM a few days ago without any problems. Maybe you can post the error message.

Endless loop.

I had/have this problem in all raid instances. Not just in Cata. If I log in with Carbonite, join to raid group, enter instance, its fine. The errorspam coming when I have to reload ui or re-login into raid instance with Carbonite on. Re-login/reload ui I have to for various reasons (addon switch, disconnect, flush cache, screen freeze, crash, etc.).

In wotlk, there was chance for endless loop of errors, but in cataclysm, its almost guaranteed after first reload. Since I usually don't plan the reload (when crashing/disconnecting/freezing in middle of fight), I can't really have time to copy error. I just disable carbonite (with addon control panel), and reload manually, which I have to anyway, because of my healing addon frames (if you log into combat, your frame is visible only, but after /reloadui, others will be visible again. its not addon dependent and very frustrating for all healers.)

On next raid, I'll try to proc the error by manually reloading on trash or before boss fights. I'll post message and how many reloads I did for error.
