Found the culrpit: the popular chat addon Chatter. With it disabled the options all work fine. Not sure how or why these two conflict since chatter doesnt affect the interface/addons screen but there you go :)

I really appreciate your feed back sir.
I made the Water Elemental timer and a preview button to show the frames to position them before usage and they will be in the next version.
I have thought about the portal \ teleport menu before but just have not put any time into it. I personally use Portal Box which I highly recommend...
