One thing I noticed was the sound matched the in-game volume; it didn't particularly stand out. I understand that to increase the volume increases everything else as well, so what I'd suggest is editing the volume of the mp3's themselves (This won't work for Long, because you call upon the built-in sound rather than the attached file...
